Anyone cry like I do?

I've just joined DISBOARDS today, and I'm elated! (Gosh, I think I've found a home...) I've moved from curious browsing to searching the site during my planning time (I'm a teacher...don't tell my principal!) for the newest threads, and I'm having a blast! Because of this site, I've saved hundreds of dollars on our June package by joining AAA, I've made PS's based on your comments, and I've just bought a pair of Crocs and I can't wait to try them out!

Anyone out there get all weepy at Disney stuff? If it's Disney-related and sappy, I'm sure to cry my eyes out, and I've got my DH doing the same! I'm a music/drama educator, and when we saw "IllumiNations" for the first time, the combination of that powerful music with the inspiring pyrotechnics made us bawl our eyes out! I bought that CD, and when I listen to it, here come the waterworks all over again! But it's not just the obviously sappy moments that make me cry...the first time I saw "Fantasmic!" and they began to project the images on the sheet of water, I cried just because that was such a brilliantly executed effect! Or, in "IllumiNations", when that single firework shoots over the sky before it all erupts in a cacophony of music and light, the tears of joy start coming. (That's the director in me, noticing that Disney pays such perfect attention to detail in matching music and visuals precisely!)

And sentimental stuff, too...last year on Main Street, I saw a little girl spend 10 minutes looking at the ground at her shadow and dancing in a circle as her daddy videotaped her, and that childlike innocence, quickly fleeting but preserved forever, just made me tear up with joy knowing that I was truly in the happiest place on earth. And I won't tell you how many times I've read a story on this site and gotten teary-yeyd! Is there anyone else out there who is ruled by their emotions when it comes to Disney, too?

Hi Kellypops - I agree, these boards are great! I'm the same way about Disney. I tear up every time I hear "When You Wish Upon A Star"! I also tend to get emotional during my first glipse of the castle from Main Street at the begining of each trip. Silly of me, I know, but I just love being at Disneyworld!

By the way, I'm not far from you, I live in McDonough.

I'm glad you mentioned the Iluminations CD. I finally found my CD after misplacing it and took it to work with me. I also got teary eyed as it affected me listening to "Tapestry of Dreams" on the CD. I was glad no one saw me crying as they would have thought something was wrong.

I also remember the little girl at the AKL souvenir shop. I was looking at the small giraffe display and she asked me which one looked the best. I pointed one to her. Before she walked to the cashier, she told me she was going to buy it for her mother as a gift and it was a secret. I just thought it was so sweet.

First, Welcome to the boards! :cool1:

Second yes, I have my Disney "moments" -- I always get a little teary eyed as I round the corner onto Main Street and see the Castle for the first time on a trip and Wishes usually gets to me too.

I too get teary eyed at many things at Disney. I even got a little teary eyed reading your post. I think Disney is the most magical place there is. ::MinnieMo

I recently joined as well and can't get enough of Dis boards. Love it. I'm getting so excited for our August trip.

I cry as well over so many sites around WDW. The castle is one that gets me each time. I'm even worse now with my DS, just seeing the joy in his eyes is very special and touches my heart.

"Welcome to Your New Home!"

Be advice...DIS Board is very addicting!! Enjoy posting!!

I just "happened" upon this place and I love it here!

I too get very emotional. My DH and kids think I am  . It doesn't help that my hormones are always out of whack!
I see the parades, I cry. I see a character, I cry, I see the castle from the monorail, I cry!

i totally understand!!! every time a wdw ad comes on tv, i cry and my family laughs at me!! but the worst is the first time at mk each trip--and now its even worse since i have 2 dds--seeing their excitement just about does me in!!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Yes, I love these boards. I cry at a lot of Disney stuff, and I don't even have to be at the World! I love the stories on these boards about people's magical experiences with the CMs, and the kids, etc! If I can't be in the World, I'm on the DIS!

I, a 6'2 type A Male... absolutely bawl when it comes to Disney, WDW, and my family....

Just today, I was making a Photo CD Montage set to music, and absolutely had tears in my eyes... while watching my DD (20months) watch the CD...

Welcome to the Dis!

Yes, I cry. I can cry about anything, but things that get me everytime-
* When the roadsigns turn to purple.
* On the ferry to the MK for the first time
* Illuminations
* Fantasmic - when Mickey pops up at the top of the mountain at the end
* Watching children and families have magic moments.

And I have some amazing memories from when I was a CM doing the college program. Even telling some of those stories still makes me cry.

Last summer was really special to me because I hadn't been to WDW in over six years and I had just graduated high school was was getting ready for college. Well, when I finally walked down Main Street and saw the Castle I got all teary eyed because I was so happy I was finally back home. Then that night I watched Wishes and that started the tears again, it's by far the most touching show ever. The last night we were there was spent at MK (honestly, is there any other way to end a trip?!) and I turned back to look at the Castle and my sister and I both cried because we didn't know how long we'd have to wait until we'd be back.

And then this past Christmas we got the best present - we're going back! A few weeks ago was amazing and I didn't cry until the last day we were there.

We were eating dinner that night at CRT and while waiting downstairs Cinderella came out and this little girl was the only child there, she was about 7, and her jaw just dropped and started jumping up and down and Cinderella sat down on her throne and took the little girl on her lap and they talked for at least five minutes. The parents were so happy, the dad was video taping it and the mom was snapping pictures, and it made me realize how much I can't wait until I'm married and have children to take them to WDW so they can experience what every child should.

Welcome to DIS Boards!

I am a big, tall, take-charge kind of guy but my eyes often start leaking at WDW. Mostly it has to do with my kids and the magical moments we enjoy there. On the last trip we (me, DW, DD, DS) got to ride in the front of the monorail. DD looked at me and asked why I was crying

Hello,

I havn't been on these board long either but I absolutley love them!!!

I do get very tearfull at WDW but what is guaranteed to get me bawling each time is Bambi.
