WHO should be declaring it a pandemic this week. I expect it to still be in the wild until a vaccine is created and deployed.
Fun! (Good Lord these are crazy times!)

Better than small pox.
Don't forget to buy powdered milk if you have a need for it. A few weeks back I refilled my apt sized chest freezer so I'm fine for everything but milk, frozen juices (sigh) and N95 masks.
I think the possibility of travel disruption/quarantine is far higher than the possibility of actually coming down with the virus. I would be far more worried about that.I have friends who just canceled their trip to Italy next week. They couldn't risk being quarantined away from their children back in the U.S. It's easy now to brush it off, but it's easy to see how it could have an impact in popular tourism places like Orlando.
Where did you read that? Extreme Optimism Daily?
The most likely scenario, according to some renowned epidemiologists, is that this virus will become pervasive worldwide, and just be added to the flu as another Coronavirus we have to contend with every year. And yeah, computer simulation estimates are that most people will probably contract it eventually. This includes about 90 million Americans, 2 million of whom will die.
You expect 2 million Americans to die this year from coronavirus? To put it in perspective 60,000 die from the flu each year. That is a lot of funerals.

Depends one when we actually know more and have real figures. Could be many have it, show no symptoms and are not reported. So the 20x may be lower. Let’s hope so.Think about it actually. More infectious than flu. 20x higher mortality rate. It might be possible. Scary.
Masks are also disputable. They work best to contain droplets from a sick person who is wearing it. Too many errors in application and type to protect a healthy person Who is wearing them.Finding the masks is all but impossible. Even on Amazon, the only sellers are very questionable.

Maybe we should all plan Disney Shanghai Trips soon. Have a feeling in China it‘s running its course and now hitting us.
True for surgical masks. N95 respirators however provide actual protection if used and fitted properly. Unfortunately it's the N95 masks that are all gone and being hoarded already.
