Anyone catch William Hung's performance on the Today Show this morning?

I watched it and also taped it so my DD13 can watch it when she gets home from school. She and her friends think he's the best.

He is cute in a weird sort of way, and I love his upbeat attitude. I say, go for it, William! I bought his CD for my daughter's Easter basket. The cashier at Best Buy said that they were selling a lot of Hung's CD. I want to hear the CD also, but probably once will be enough. I'm afraid my daughter and her friend will play the CD over and over on our road trip next week to Memphis, (a very long drive from Maine!) I will be SURE they bring headphones!

We all around here thought William "She Bangs" Hung was great too....three months ago when AI3 premiered. I can't say I adore him as much anymore.


I wish him the best of luck and all, but I was put off a bit by a recent interview (read it on an AI forum, not sure where), where he talked about his plans to change himself to be more "polished". He's also going to be performing at a major radio show in NYC, as one of the headlining acts!!

I guess if/when my 15 minutes of fame rolls around, I'll be just as eager to cash in on it, and it most likely won't be as lucrative as his has been, but at some point I think the public is going to turn around and go, "wait, WHAT? What are we DOING spending money on this guy?!"

Please don't take this the wrong way - right now, William is a celebrity because people love his attitude and his freshness and his heart. Unfortunately, though, I think the people behind him (publicists, stylists, etc.) are going to ruin him. Kinda like Jessica Simpson - at the beginning of Newlyweds, everyone found her funny and enjoyed her honest stupidity, for lack of a better term (whether or not she was acting then has been debated). As soon as she starts doing scripted "dumb blonde" things though, it just gets....unfunny.

Just my opinion...in the meantime, rock on William!

I totally do NOT understand the thrill of William Hung.

4. he can't sing

I heard the entire CD on AOL - DH was listening to it and laughing. All I can say is that he sure did butcher my favorite song - Hotel California by the Eagles. I just couldn't listen to it .

I just don't get it.

I think it's his upbeat attitude that makes him so likeable. He'd be better off as a motivational speaker than a singer though

I saw William Hung on the Today Show and thought that it was all just to give Matt L. and Katie C. someone to laugh at and make fun of. I don't care for either one of them. Has anyone else noticed how they make fun of their guests? I especially bet she's a B_ _ _ _ and backstabber in person! LOL

Their is just something about William Hung, although I don't think I'd ever buy his CD!

Sorry to say, I think he sings horribly!!! I cannot believe they are carrying this on for soooo long. I saw a special, "Making of She Bangs" or something to that effect. It was absolutely embarrassing!! There is no way that CD will come into my house!! Sorry all you "Hung" fans!! (Although I do think he's better than Fantasia . . . yuck!)

I would NEVER pay to listen to him sing. WHY? He has no talent and shouldn't be made to think he has. That is what giving him a record deal has done. The poor guy doesn't realize that half the people he talks to are making fun of him.. I think it's just terrible of people to take advantage of him. What if he really thinks he has talent and that everyone loves him....then he finds out he was thought of as a joke....it will break his spirit.


Either that OR he is a very good actor and he is laughing at everyone all the way to the bank.

Sorry to say that I slept through it. The TV was on, but I was sound asleep. I heard some comedian say that William Hung is in his 17th minute of fame.
