When the rest of August & early Sept will open up? I read somewhere here that they open up the dates 100 or so days before??
Southwest releases schedules every eight weeks or so. Since Southwest just released the schedule through August 3, I would expect Southwest to release the schedule through late September in about eight weeks.
In comparison, the traditional airlines accept reservations 330 days in advance. Every night, another day is released.
However, when you book a flight almost 11 mionths in advance on a traditional airline, you're almost guaranteed that the flight numbers, flight times, and sometimes the equipment will change. It's even possible that the flight at the time of day that you want to travel will be eliminated, or even that the route will be dropped entirely.
Southwest, on the hand, is very unlikely to change the schedule once it is released.
