Anyone buy the 10 day non-exp ticket over the AP?

One thing to remember on the "regular" tickets, they are not transferrable and a finger scan is attached to each ticket. Didn't know if you planned on "spreading" the tickets among several folks.

It would not be fun to get to the turnstile and be turned away.....

Yep! :thumbsup2
Got that, and that is why if I purchased the tickets for my DH, kids and G-kids at the same time, the park tickets would literally cost almost as much as my DVC!

I just want to confirm this. If we buy non expiring park hopper passes they could technically be used at Disneyland or WDW right? Since they are not annual passes.

correct.

in my travels across the DIS, i vaguely remember reading something about how the computers supposedly "group" ticket purchases in some cases. so if a family of 4 buys 4 tickets, any of the 4's fingerprints will work for any of the 4 tickets...better to verify this in the "theme park" forums, though...

I had no idea, and quite honestly I'm still doubting this.

When I look up information on the DIS about ticketing, it mentions entry to WDW on the non-expiry . . . it doesn't mention Disneyland entry, however.

Is this a little-known fact???

Thanks for any info regarding this:goodvibes

This post helps me too. I have been contemplating this same thing. AP vs 10 day non-expiring. I have a 6 night trip planned over New Year's and want to take another trip next year but I don't know if that will actually be a reality so I think I will be better off with the 10 day non-expiring.

Has anyone found better prices than undercover tourists $457.96 for the 10 day water park fun n' more ticket?

Thanks

The reason I don't do this is because there are some days we just pop over to the parks for dinner or for a show. Wouldn't want to burn up a day for that!

We also try to get about 14 days out of our APs....

Using Walt Disney World Tickets at Disneyland

Interesting, unpublished fact: you can use any unexpired, leftover days on a Walt Disney World ticket at Disneyland or DCA! Present the Disney World ticket at the gate on arrival -- they will take it somewhere, deduct a day from it, and give you a one-day Disneyland and/or DCA ticket. You can repeat this day by day until the Disney World ticket is used up. They will not give you a multi-day ticket all at once, even if you have multiple days left on your Disney World ticket. Also, MouseSavers.com reader Danny P notes that any Disneyland ticket obtained from exchanging a Walt Disney World ticket must be used on the same day it was exchanged.

The type of Disneyland ticket you will receive is based on the Walt Disney World ticket you present: if you have a Disney World ticket with the Hopper option, you will get a Disneyland Hopper that allows you to visit both parks in the same day; on the other hand, if the Disney World ticket had no Hopper option, you will get a one-day/one-park ticket and will have to pick which park to enter that day.

This policy has been in effect for at least 5 years, and the information was last reconfirmed by a MouseSavers.com reader as of August 2007.

Disneyland tickets are NOT accepted at Walt Disney World, and Annual Passes are only good at the park where they were purchased (WDW Annual Passes are NOT good at Disneyland, and vice versa).

When we bought ours 2 months ago, that was the best price we saw.

This is very interesting . . . thanks so much for posting it:flower3:

If I find myself in California next year for my DD's dance competition, I just may pop on over to DL for a visit, and knowing I can use my existing WDW ticket is just excellent!

And this is just one reason I love the DIS! I never knew this. Living in Oregon, and maybe going to SCal for a weekend trip to visit friends, this would be a wonderful use of a nonexpire ticket.
I get SO excited when I learn something new!:cheer2:
Another Question: If I use all the 10 day park admits, do I still have X amount of waterpark/DQ/PI left?

Thanks Deb

i'm afraid i've posted all i know, but you might ask over on the disneyland or theme park forums...

Correct, the Water Park and more credits don't expire as well.

I have a number of tickets left with nothing but Water park and more credits dating back a few years. We stopped buying the extras with new passes since we have so many left on older tickets.

Sorry, I think I may have mis-understood the connection to exchanging for DL or CA and if the Extras still stick around after the exchange.

:sad2:

Good question.

I had no idea that I could exchange WDW tix for DL! That is a great thing to know.

We have had our 10 days for a few yrs now. We have been able to stretch them by going to seperate event such as the Princess and Pirate Party or MVMCP. For such events yu need a seperate ticket. They let you in the park at 4:00 w/ that ticket and the party usually goes from 7-12. so you have a from 4:00 to 12:00 -8hrs of park time without using a day on your PH passes and the price of the party is less than for a single day ticket.

We also do not go to the parks every day myabe 2 or 3 out of 7. This is because there are other things to do especially w/DVC. We like to pool hop and visit other resorts or take a drive to the beach or something else.

If I lived closer to WDW, like in FLA I would get an AP.

One question. Can you use only one of the plusses on the Park Hopper + Water Park Fun & More (10 day) - No Expiration ticket per day? So I cannot go to Typhoon Lagoon in the morning and Disney Quest in the evening without using 2 plusses?

FYI If using your WDW tix at DL don't do it for more than one day. It is not the best use of your ticket and it is better to pay cash.

We've always bought multi day 7 or 10 day passes since 2000, when our "free" visits ended. Works out great for us. We always get 3 years or so out of them.:goodvibes

Me, my DH and DS (8) usually average one 8 day trip per year. We have bought 1 10 day Park Hopper +Water Parks Option, No exp. for each of us. When you buy it, it's alot of money up front, but it will last for at least 3 trips.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Nope, no "plus" hopping, sadly. For your example, it would use a plus for each visit, so 2 for that day.

Undercover Tourist is selling 10 day WPF&M tickets with 7 plusses, not 10 plusses. They won't be selling the tickets with the same plusses as park days until 2008.

Right now, I have annual passes for myself and the grandchildren...since we tend to go several times a year. I have the Water Park passes for them, which pay for themselves if you go over 3 times a year.
I have some "old" tickets with plusses that I use for water parks.
Also, I am hanging on to tickets bought almost two years ago, with non-expiring 10 days for future use.
I have at least 3 one-day tickets, as part of packages, unused.
And I am holding on to Universal tickets, also for future use.

We will just look at our situation...it may pay us to use some off of the 10 day, universal and water parks when our current AP expire in May.

We also go to the parties, which mean we would not have to use a ticket that day.
