Anyone bought a camcorder lately?

I have had my eye on the Panasonic GV-PS500 MiniDV for a little while and was wondering if someone had any other good camcorder advice, or anything good/bad to say about this one..

I've been looking at HD camcorders. I was getting close to ordering one until I looked into what it takes to edit it. Now I'm not so sure. On the other hand, I hate to keep shooting SD video in an HD age. Once you get used to an HD picture, SD just looks so bad.

For SD camcorders, my favorite new feature is the ability to tapeless. I've always hated working with tape. Now they have some that record onto hard disks. The thought of being able to capture an entire vacation without having to change tapes, clean heads, etc is quite appealing to me.

I have a Sony DCR-DVD305, I love how you burn right on a dvd but I hate that there only 30 mins long --thats not much time when your taping a show or sports ect. If you get the RW's you can reuse them so that kinda helps. I would think about buying a good video software program so you can make one big dvd out of little ones. I have Roxio's Videowave 7 professional works pretty good and its easy to use.
