Do you like it? Is it worth the $? Does it really work better than getting on your hand & kness to scrub the carpet yourself? What about the cleaner - can you use other stuff or only the stuff made for it???

I have one! I bought it about 2 months ago and have used it about a dozen times. It does work. It's taken out several carpet stains that were there when we moved in a year ago. I've only used the carpet solution that comes with it. I think you can use anything that states its for a "compact" deep cleaner. Very easy to fill & clean. Also has a hose attached which comes in handy to suck up excess water.

It has 2 settings: a 3 min. cleaning for regular stains and a 6 min. setting for set-in stains.

The only problem: If you have older carpeting, you will see perfect little circles where you cleaned because it makes the rest of the carpet look filthy! :rotfl2: I had to borrow my SIL's upright cleaner to even out the carpet!

DH and I have a geriatric cat and a kitten that have taken turns soiling various places of the carpet in the house. The SpotBot has been so worth the money! The cleanup is so much easier and the machine does a much better job than I would do cleaning the carpet. The machine does use a specific type of cleaner, but it isn't any more expensive than the others on the market. I have already recommended the machine to several friends and co-workers because it works so well.

We have only used ours a couple times - and so far we really like it. The attachment helps on stairs. With two barfy cats and a messy dog, I think we will get alot of use out of it!!!!

I wanted to pop in and give my review on the Spotbot. I loved it! I was originally looking for the Little Green Clean Machine, because I had $80 worth of GC from Target, and I didn't want to spend extra money. However, they were *out* of the LGCM, so I bit the bullet and got the Spotbot.

That thing is *awesome*! In the past few weeks I've had to clean up dog dog pee, orange mud that my kids dragged in, a chewed up teabag that stained my carpet, and worst of all, *numerous* spots that my in-heat dog left on the carpet when she took off her doggie panties. The spotbot worked on all of them!

I couple of things I discovered, though. It *doesn't* work on shag carpeting--gets tangled up. Also, if you don't have the cleaner, just use water in the machine and spray 409 or whatever. That worked great for me!

I thought you wrote that you have a 'generic' cat. I actually thought "what the hecks a generic cat?" Had to read it twice!
