Anyone from the March 20th 2004 Eastern Magic cruise book the March 26,2005 Easter Cruise? Or anyone else? Did you notice the extreme price increase? We are wondering if we should take the plunge or not. Just wondering how many of you have already booked.

Thanks for the replies in advance!!:)

We origionally wanted to cruise the magic on this date, and are big dcl fans, but we have a family of 5, and like to have a verandah, so we could not ignore another cruiseline. Other lines have good quality cruises on beautiful newer ships with kids programs for nearly half the cost of DCL. We cruised last feb on rccl mariner, and we deffinately liked dcl better, but ironicaly our kids ages 8 , 14 , and 17 all enjoyed rccl kids programs better. We like the family atmosphere of dcl, but is it worth an additional $4000+?

For next march 26 we chose a new princess grand class cruise, and were able to get 2 cabins with an xtra large aft verandah for about $5000 for the 5 of us through costco. I heard princess's quality is way up there . We will find out.

For now, looking forward to cruising on the Magic this summer:smooth:

Whatever you do good luck, I was considering the same cruise so I had to put my 2 cents in.

I put a deposit down on this cruise; just changed from the land/sea combo which was much cheaper by the way. We cruised on DCL last Easter (2003) and the price for a cat. 6 is about $ 2,000 higher for Easter 2005! We decided to book a cat. 9 instead which is about $2000 cheaper than the cat. 6. I looked around at some different cruise lines and some were about 1/2 the price of DCL. It's getting harder to justify the cost but I can't cruise during the school year as I am a teacher and I definately prefer the quality of DCL for my children while they are still young.

If it's not too bold to ask, which category did you book, for how many people, and what price are you paying? We booked a cat. 9 for 2 adults and 2 kids for 5300. Like I said, that is what we paid for a cat. 6 last Easter while the cat. 6 for Easter 2005 is almost 7000! OUCH!

Ashley24 where did you get a rate of 5300 dollars for a cat.9? The best rate I have gotten for a cat.11 for 4 people was $5,549.00. We paid less than that for a cat.6 this past March 20. There should be a law that they cannot raise the prices that much just because it is a holiday. Not like they would have trouble filling up the ship anyway.

My exact rate is 5362.60 from Cruise.com. I have booked many cruises with this company and been very satisfied. Still, that price is very steep and seems unfair. Yet, the ship is filling up fast for that date.

Sitchu2,
I just sent you a PM for more info about the Princess cruise.
Thanks!

Ashley24 was that quote for the land/sea together? We also went with cruises.com and got a rate of 4806 leaving March 27 on the 4 day Wonder for a cat 4 with 5 of us. I'm glad to here you had good experiences with cruises.com:sunny:

The price I quoted is not for the land/sea combo but for the 7 night cruise that begins on March 26th. I know my countdown timer lists that I am going on the Land/sea but I switched my ressie to the 7 day cruise after deciding that I would prefer the longer cruise.
