There are 5 of us...A 2BR condo IS preferable to a one-room "suite," right?

I was excited to find a $89 rate at Comfort Suites Maingate for a week at Christmas. There's no cancellation fee, so if a last minute inexpensive timeshare pops up on Skyauction or GETRAVELOP, I could change w/o penalty.

Cypress Pointe Resort is coming up for same dates on HotelKingdom at $93! I thought it'd be higher over the holiday season. I think I understand the fine print to say that cancelling with at least 72 hrs notice and I only pay a $20 cancellation fee.

First, is that right?

Second, have people had trouble cancelling rooms with Hotel Kingdom?

(If we did decide to cancel, I'd hate to have a fight to get the $ back.)

I'd love to hear people's experiences booking with Hotel Kingdom--especially if you've also canceled.

Thanks!

I've had to cancel twice with Hotel Kingdom due to travel date changes and neither was an issue. I contacted HK directly and also had to contact the resort that was booked. I received my mastercard credit within days.

Just a note with Cypress Pointe - when I have booked them with HK I did have to pay the entire amount upfront. I don't know if that still is the policy.

I cancelled with hotelkingdom for Cypress Pointe over Labor Day 2004 when there was a hurricane. Cypress Pointe refunded my money immediately. The ressie was only for 3 nights and the hotelkingdom part was not much money. After a couple of months I called hotelkingdom for my small refund. They were so nice and apologized over and over. Their offices had been damaged at some point in time during the hurricane year. I have used them 3 other times for stays at Cypress Pointe and things have always gone very smoothly. Have a great trip!!

Are you guys talking about Cypree Point Grand Villas? Have you actually stayed there, cause I too was on Hotel Kingdom and was thinking of booking that resort the price and the discription sounded great! Any info appreciated
thanks! :sunny:

I've only stayed in Phase I (not the Grand Villas) 3x, but what you see on their pics of the rooms at www.cypresspointe.net is true. If search works, there are several threads on Cypress Pointe.
