Anyone been using the $10 off any $10 purchase at Hallmark coupon?EDIT CLARIFICATION

When i was at our Hallmark store the manager told a customer to go on hallmark.com and print out the $10 coupon and in mean time gave this customer a few different coupons to use.

If hallmark is telling customers to print out the coupon from their wedsite and the coupons are scanning, then no one is committing fraud.

I would feel gulity taking an advantage of using ten, twenty, thirty & etc. coupons. I guess it would be up to the hallmark and if you are on first name bases by then.....:rotfl:

If you use it once, the cops aren't going to be coming to hunt you down. ;) The OP is indicating she is using that coupon TONS of times even though she is aware it is a fake. You are on video and all it takes is for corporate or the store owner to decide to make someone an example and you won't have any defense. Also people are indicating they have the coupon illegally saved to their computer and are illegally distributing it. That is a big problem esp after Hallmark has already made the coupon sites take it down.

Just out of curiosity, how would a person know if it was a fake or not...the only reason the idea of the coupon being a fake came up is because someone suggested it. If hallmark had the coupon out to print and people printed it and didn't read the dis boards, how would one know it was fake???? Someone was told it was a fake so everyone assumes that's the case, but others have been encouraged to print more from Hallmark employees and managers, who's right, who's wrong :confused3
The whole point of being on video and being convicted....gimme a break. It's amazing to me some of the threads on here that have so much debate going on, and this is one of them

I have said this before and am going to say it again. If someone can mail you a JPG of a coupon than it is likley a fake. If you can print directly from a freebie site it is likely a fake. Legit coupons are either hosted on a legit coupon site like coupons.com or directly on the company website.

Ok. Sorry if I came across mean I thought you were coming directly at me. should I delete this thread? But like I said there have been stores who do coupons not realizing you can print as many as you want and the fine print lets you "beat the system" that is truly what I thought was going on...UNTIL. If I should delete this thread so the coupon is not sent out anymore I have no issues doing so...just need to know how lol.

I am thinking hard here but I can't think of even ONE instance where "beating the system" isn't wrong or, in some cases, illegal.

If it was the right thing to do, you wouldn't need to beat the system.

just my .02 but...

I think we all are adults here and all of us are capable of monitoring our own choices and decisions. None of us have to like, accept or agree with the decisions that anyone else on this board is making.

Now back to your regularly scheduled ethical debate....popcorn::

I was in Hallmark tonight and the lady in front of me was using the new $5 coupon. She asked the manager how often they put out coupons because this was the first one she had ever used and the manager told her to look on the internet because there was a $10 coupon too that she could use that was good until the 24th. Soooo I'm assuming the coupon isn't fake. And when I went to print it from the Hallmark site it wasn't like most coupons and only print 2, I could print as many as I wanted all with the same barcode and no special numbers on it.

And little eyes are watching. A great lesson in right vs. wrong.

Whats that expression, *Actions speak louder than words?*

For all of those who keep saying this coupon is fake, I just want to say when I first saw something about it online, I clicked the link and it went to Hallmarks website for newer parents/grandparents to sign up (it did let you go back to child birth year around 1999 I believe). I signed up because I have 2 children that would qualify and I printed my coupon, told my mom who also printed one. I took these to Hallmark and used them both and they had no problem with them. DH then signed up and printed and used, again no problem. I went in there this week with a "copy" of one of ours, told her it is a copy and was wanting to know if it was allowed to be used or if it was intended to only be used once. She said it would be accepted, as long as you have the coupon, it doesnt expire until 12/24. I didnt use it that day, but I just wanted to add this on here.

I think this link has went way overboard, OP wasnt intending to rip off Hallmark, just trying to help others save some money. It is up to each of us, as adults, to figure out what is right to do in this kind of situaiton. I dont think we need to judge or discriminate one other. And agree this thread just needs deleted and shut down.

Maybe this is Hallmarks way of doing a going out of business sale! They must be losing so much money and will probably find a new way of doing coupon sales.

There are alot of companies putting out $ off of $ coupons (many are $10 off $10) and they do this to drum up business during a recession. There are more people that go into the store and spend more than the $10 (I know I did). I remember the days when CVS had multiple coupons that could be combined and you if you had other coupons you could get $100 worth of stuff pretty much free and they didn't go out of business. Hallmark did the coupon to try to get a different demographic into the store and apparently the store managers were told to promote it because most store managers are.

I printed off 2 coupons. I used one, and I gave the other to my mother. We both used them in the store at the same time. It scans using the barcode. It took off the $10 instantly with no questions asked. It was a totally legit coupon. Thank you, OP, for sharing this on the DIS. I was able to pick up some wrapping paper and tissue for Christmas. :goodvibes

I have had 6 or 8 $10 off $10 purchase coupons at Kohls in the last year. They emailed them to me. I've had some other ones too from local businesses. Hallmark wants you to come in and get something if even for $5. Then you are likely to see how nice their store is and come back another time. In Sunday's paper, our Hallmark had a flyer and coupons in their own ad. So yes, I believe they want you to use the coupons.

Yep they sure do. This is how the drum up business. If they can get you in the door and get you to buy something more likely than not you will be a repeat customer. I just got a $20 off $20 for Casual Male.

The only trouble I had using the $10 off coupon was when the saleswoman thought it was $1 off 100 when the cash register said "$10OFF". :rotfl2:Guess she had been sniffing the yankee candles too much.

Wow, do you really mean Kohls, or do you mean JCPenney? I spend lots at both places :scared1: and constantly get the $10 off $10 from JCP (or $15 off $15) but never from Kohls. Just asked one of my BFFs and she hasn't either.:confused3

I've got the $10 of $10 for Kohls in the mail alot, but not so much since I got a Kohls card :confused3

I get the $10/$10 JCPenney and $10/$10 Kohls coupons occasionally too.

My Hallmark said that they'll take 1 $10/$10 coupon per day. How sad is it that I used two last week but I literally can't find anything else that I actually want in that store? Yankee Candles are nice, but even the "cheap" ones aren't that cheap after coupon. I can do better at the end-of-year sale at YC (or whatever they call that sale).

I did get some YC car air fresheners. Other than wrapping paper (which I have plenty of already), there is nothing else that I'd be interested in. I guess I could stock up on birthday cards, but honestly I'm too lazy to think of a b-day that is 6 months from now even for free:rotfl: Hallmark is a store full of tchotchkes (sp?) and I am not a tchotchke person!

Does anyone know if there is anything good for 4 yr old girls there? They love the disney princesses but I doubt they have anything like that there other then ornaments and cards. Got any ideas?:confused3

I might just go to dollar tree and get some disney princess stuff there.

I found some Hello Kitty beanies there for my DD who is about to turn 5. Other than that, no, there isn't much IMHO.

My store had some stuffed animals, resuable water bottles with names on them, a few "toys", and pillow pets. I ended up getting the rudolph pillow pet for my son, but beware at my store it was still $14.99 after coupon. It's too cute though.
