Anyone been using the $10 off any $10 purchase at Hallmark coupon?EDIT CLARIFICATION

How did you find one? Ive been searching on google and nothing :(

I print Michael coupons all the time , because Michael's does not put them in our paper they said sign up for the emails I did and I print that coupon and use it just fine. It does not have my name on it and I always print them for my aunt too. They don't care they want the business they want me to come into there store to use the coupon and they are going to try to sell me something else, and most of the time they do! The manager has even pulled someone elses coupon out of the drawer and let both my aunt and I use it.

In todays economy they want your business, if corporate had a problem with it they would sent out a company wide memo saying they were fraud and not to take them. Just MHO.

Not to be rude but these are fake coupons. Just because the barcode is the same (which is why it is scanning!) doesn't make it legit. If your name and email isn't on it then it's fake. Hallmark pulled the coupon from their own site more than a week ago. The print limit was hit.

And to everyone on here saying you don't care that it is a fake. Once you have been notified these coupons are fake, the responsibility falls to you. It's not the cashier that is going to be charged with coupon fraud, it's the consumer. :sad2:

What is coupon fraud?

If one has a coupon and uses it, the store accepting it, how can they be traced to that certain person?

So is the cashier going to hold you there while the police come?

I don't quite understand.

I do understand if someone falsely made a coupon, like counterfieting, and bought hundreds of things, but to use a coupon once??

Coupon fraud covers many things, including using a coupon that was not intended for you to use. The original $10 coupon is supposed to be used to those who it was issued to, thats pretty obvious from just reading a few of these posts. If that coupon was not emailed to you directly, and you got if from someone elses PDF, or some site online that that is considered fraud since its a COPY of an original coupon. Using it one time or 100, its still coupon fraud.

If you use it once, the cops aren't going to be coming to hunt you down. ;) The OP is indicating she is using that coupon TONS of times even though she is aware it is a fake. You are on video and all it takes is for corporate or the store owner to decide to make someone an example and you won't have any defense. Also people are indicating they have the coupon illegally saved to their computer and are illegally distributing it. That is a big problem esp after Hallmark has already made the coupon sites take it down.

While I'd agree that the Hallmark coupon circulating is obviously a scan/fake you quoted someone talking about a Micheal's Coupon, printed from Micheal's website. Those are 100% legit.

eta:While I personally in good conscience couldn't use this coupon, I do agree with those who say the stores want you to spend money and they don't care how. As the PP mentioned Micheal's will take a coupon out of the drawer for you and if you say, "Hey, I didn't get a coupon this week." They'll write down your zip code and give you the discount. I've had Target give me discounts on my word alone more then once and they'll take a coupon if it scans even if it's not exactly what's stated on the coupon. I had stacks of coupons(all from emails or snail mail) for Bed, Bath & Beyond and Bath & Bodyworks today. Technically it was one per transaction, they didn't want to bother with that and let me stack them. I didn't ask them to, they did it. So the argument can go either way IMHO.

Please back track on that one. I did not realize it was fake especailly after speaking with 3 hallmark employees at different stores. I told all of them where I printed it and how I could print as many as I wanted. After reading and realizing it was fake I have not used it. When I printed it it was from Krazy Coupon Lady who I thought was legit. I was told by a Hallmark employee that she was asked to take it down because Hallmark did not realize how many people where going to print it. I have a jog of it because my friends sent it to me. I have not email anyone that coupon since the first day I posted this as I did not realize it was fake. I probably should not have done that part.

Companies have listed coupons before where you could print as many as you wanted not realizing but they were legit (I have gotten these through Target). I figure this was the same thing. As I stated before. I have not used or passed this coupon on to anyone since I have realized it is most likely not legit.

But when you ask three different employees and they tell you they are aware of the coupon going around and it is legit. That I will not get into trouble and Hallmark will be honoring all of them. They even encouraged me to get more things because it was such a good deal. Kinda hard for me to think it was fraud. Especially when a mngr was one of those people. THATS why I got so much. Not because I was trying to do something wrong.

I didn't say you were distributing it. There are people offering it up in this thread. My warning is just a warning to everyone using it and distributing it. And if they decided to come after you, they really could. If management got in trouble for letting you use all those coupons, they'd throw you under the bus in a heartbeat. It doesn't matter that the employee let you use it nor that they encouraged it. You have to use it for it to be fraud. They could have been setting you up. Now they obviously weren't but that's not something I'd ever take the chance on. And yes, there are people on this thread that are still asking for the coupon so they are using a coupon they know to be a fake.

And I really find it hard to believe that anyone really, deep down inside, thought Hallmark was just giving away all that merchandise to just anyone and as much as each person wanted. Really??? You won't convince me that people's inner voices weren't telling them something is wrong here.

Ok. Sorry if I came across mean I thought you were coming directly at me. should I delete this thread? But like I said there have been stores who do coupons not realizing you can print as many as you want and the fine print lets you "beat the system" that is truly what I thought was going on...UNTIL. If I should delete this thread so the coupon is not sent out anymore I have no issues doing so...just need to know how lol.

What, exactly, is the manager going to do? Fall weeping to his or her knees in front of the almighty coupon police, crying, "SHE did it! She came in here with a coupon, and I told her it was fake, but she forced me to ring it through with her super frugal powers."

Please. Relax.

I'm not trying to be snarky or jerky BUT :rotfl: This thread has gotten so serious. I do however thank those of you who told me that coupons can be fake, I truly had no clue.

But again, if the cashier takes it how should I have known prior to you telling me? and if they take the couon shame on them for not following store policy, no?

I went tonight with my family. We each used one with out a coupon. Our goodies consist of a Vera Bradley pencil case, Vera Bradley bracelet, mug, and a webkinz. We paid under 20$ total.

When the original coupon came out mine let me print it as many times as I wanted to. There is a new $5 coupon out and when I click print it asks how many I want to print. Not like the Bricks coupons. I stupidly didn't print it because I was at work and it would be black and white and when I got home Hallmark had taken it down. Now I need one!

VERY true. Remember a few years ago when the college student was convicted of illegally downloading music, as an *example* so others wouldn't?

Yup :thumbsup2 And, Karma baby, and all that ;)

(haha we ALL know that stores make a profit and stay in business when they *give away all that merchandise to just anyone and as much as each person wanted* LOL)

:rotfl::lmao:

To everyone saying that hallmark wants business, and that is why they are taking them, I have to wonder if people using fraudulent coupons to "steal" merchandise is the type of customers that they want.
