Has anyone recently come back from WDW and had a chance to check out the new T-Rex Cafe? If so, how was it? Do you know if they take reservations? My sister is heading down and isn't able to find Chef Mickey ressies for her DS 5th birthday 12/2 so I thought this might be a good alternative for her.:)

Our family went to T-rex in October and we really liked it. It is owned by the same people that own rainforest cafe so they are very simular however we thought the food was much better at T-rex. They are not taking reservations until January but we didnt have to wait long. I think it depends on the time of day you go also because we had seen long lines at times.

We are going to skip Cap'n Jack's and try T-Rex in December. We think Rainforest is ok, but the menu at T-Rex looks pretty good.

Hi! I had a late flight into Orlando so we ate at T-Rex on 10/17/08 around 10:30pm. We were seated right away even though the restaurant had plenty of guests. T-Rex does not take reservations at this time.

At least on that night, our waiter was extremely good. I loved the decorations and displays inside...very neat! The food we had ordered was quite darn good considering the food at Rain Forest is so-so. I definately will be returning to T-Rex on my next vacation scheduled for April 09.

The waiter we had told us the best time to come eat at T-Rex is before 3pm or after 9pm and that basically their peak times were from around 4pm to about 9pm.

My parents went twice the weekend it opened. First time (Thurs) they were seated quickly and the second (Sat) they had a long wait and some issues with the person at the front. They were seating big parties and not small groups so they were told they'd have to wait. The manager fixed that though. They said the food and service were good and the ambiance was fun. They do not take ressies though.

Just came back from Disney on Wednesday and had lunch at T-rex during our stay. Like other posters have mentioned, it's similar to Rainforest. There are several themed sections in the restaurant. We sat near the kitchen of fire. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and they brought out a complimentary icecream with chocolate chip cookie dessert. It's not fine dining but it was good. The staff was very nice and it's definitely worth a try.

I am glad to read that. My daughter wants to try T-Rex, but I do not like Rainforest AT ALL and neither does she. :thumbsup2
