Anyone been to CRT for dinner?

If you haven't eaten at CRT before, then I say go for it, to say "been there, done that." We've had bf, lunch, and dinner there twice each. Why? I kept thinking the experience would get better if I tried different times of the day, different seasons, some trips we went with people who had never been.

My experience there has only gotten more negative.
The food is only so-so. Not a very good variety. The princesses (for lunch and dinner only) are rushed, don't talk with the kids, simply come up to the table, say "can I sign your book" and pretty much leave. Consistently CRT has had the worst character interaction for us. My 6 year old was upset that they wouldn't interact with her, and that was heartbreaking. And I just mean talking to the kids while they are signing the autographs or taking the picture. They barely pose long enough for one photo, good luck trying to get a couple or get kids separate. My dd wanted a picture with Belle without her brother, so I said we'll get brother in the next pic. Belle actually said "No, how about all together" and stood behind my son's high chair so my dd had to get up to go stand my Belle if she wanted in the picture.

Cinderella - you meet her before dinner, stand in line, get pictures and autographs. You are rushed through pretty quickly. The dinner has the "show" with the Fairy Godmother and the mice. Literally 5 minutes and she was done. In September we had dinner at CRT. Even the quality of service has gone down. We had a spilled water glass that broke on our table. We had to ask 3 passing servers to help us clean up the water and the glass shards. We kept getting, "be right with you" type of answers. Our server was no where to be seen. We finished our meal and no one cleaned offered to clean up the mess. The manager appologized, nothing else.

Yikes! All the negative reviews I've read about CRT really has me second guessing spending two of our table service credit on it?? I wish I had more time to decide...need to make ADRs in the morning! :(

We've only been to CRT once, in Sept 2008 for lunch. As the PP said, first you wait in line to meet Cinderella. My daughter was 2 1/2 y.o. at this time, and she was so tired at this point she was actually having a tantrum in line. As we're getting closer to Cinderella, the photographer said to someone "I don't think this kid is going to work". But like magic, as soon as we pushed her up to Cinderella, she stopped crying. Cinderella knealt down to her level and calmed her down and actually got some good pics.

Then we went up for lunch. You get a limited choice for entrees and neither was very good. It seemed to be forever before any of the princesses came out. They did a good job of coming around, and if I remember right each posed for a few quick pics. Some of them talked to DD, but she was 2 1/2 so not much conversation happened. But I agree it was more hurried than the princess dinner at Epcot. They do (or at least, did) get a magic wand that said Cinderella's Royal Table" on the handle as a souvioner that my DD still has.

We liked it. We liked the ambiance. We liked the food at lunch. We had no problem with the character interaction. They signed autograph books, posed of for a picture and made a couple of comments. Honestly, that's all I expect from any characters at a meal. There are a lot of other people waiting on them, there are quite a few other characters to see, and I can't eat while chatting with them.
We're doing dinner there on our April trip and looking forward to it :)
We liked the Epcot Princess meal too. Very similar in quality and character interaction, IMO, except that CRT is prettier.

I would say it's middle of the road. The food is okay, not the best we've eaten but okay. It is worth it for the experience, at least once. Both my boys and girls enjoyed it. There are many better meals for 2 TS credits, but the experience was fun.

CRT for dinner is superb. The waitor was absoultely wonderful, our favorite of the trip, and the food was delicious! We just went in December and had such a magical experience. The castle is incredible inside, a sight everyone needs to see. One of the best meals I have ever had in WDW. I would definitely recommend it! :thumbsup2

Based on most of the responses above, it seems that posters aren't aware that CRT just changed a few weeks ago to now include princesses at dinner - that's why the OP mentioned it in her original post.

I think OP is looking for people who have experienced the "new" CRT princess dinner experience. There have been a few reports on other threads about it, but not much has been reported yet. Someone did report that they saw Belle, Snow White and Aurora at dinner the other night though.

We eat at CRT in a few weeks - we are giving it another try as the princesses are there now and my DD6 and DS2 love their princesses!
