It's always been one of our favorites but the last few reviews I read were not good. I heard they lost their main chef too. Anyone know? It's too expensive to not be good.

We were there last Thursday, the 15th and loved it. It was MIL's, DH's and my favorite meal of the trip! We got our dessert just as Illuminations started, it was perfect. I don't know about the chef though, but whoever is back there is doing a good job imo!

We ate there in October. It was wonderful as usual. It's definitely our favorite non-signature restaurant. As a matter of fact, our most recent CdF meal was better than the meal we had at one if the signature restaurants a couple nights later.

Chefs de France did not lose its chef. The executive chef is Bruno Vrignon, who has worked for Paul Bocuse for two decades, most of the time at the France pavilion.
What you may have heard was that Gaston Lenotre, one of the three French chefs in the restaurants name, died recently, as I reported on my site. Lenotre owned the operation with Bocuse and Roger Verge but because of ill health had not visited Central Florida for a number of years. His passing will have no effect on the quality of the restaurant.

We were there the first week of December and it was fabulous! It has always been one of my favourites and DBFF and I eat there every year! This past trip did not disappoint! And I would say the service may have been the best out of all the trips there! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! I had the macaroni de gratin and the profiteroles, they're both great! :)

We ate there twice in Dec and had one really great experience and one really bad one. I think its still worth going, sometimes, fate just doesn't work in your favor and it doesn't necessarily mean the restaurant is bad, just circumstances at the restaurant were not favorable (for whatever reason) for that night.

We ate there December 11th and it was very good.

We were there that day too!:wave2:

Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed to be honest. The food for us was just ok, not bad but not memorable. But the service was poor and I think thats what let our meal down the most. We shared a cheese plate to start our meal and had used our cutlery for that. When the server came round he took our plates with the dirty cutlery but then he set the same cutlery down at the table!:crazy2: They had cheese all over them and when we asked for fresh ones for our entrees he looked at us as though we were mad! He was also on permanent go slow all evening and seemed half asleep!

But I don't think we would dine there again, we have had much nicer meals elsewhere.

We ate there on Jan 14th. It wasn't our favorite. We were on the dining plan. Our food was ok - not bad but not great. We had GREAT service. Very friendly waiter and excellent pace for the meal. We will try it again but maybe not for 3 or 4 years or so.
