Anyone Been on Space Mtn with the Lights ON ????

We were there after Christmas this past year and midway through the ride the lights came on! It was unreal! Apparently something went wrong with the light timer. IT was really strange!!

We were on it last year and the lights went on and the ride stopped......I could actually reach up and touch the bars over us....i will never ever stick my arms up again!!!!

Yup, we actually rode the People Mover through Space Mountain and saw everything with the lights on! It seems a lot scarrier with the lights off though!

Martin got your PM! Im very excited about this year, even with that price tag! OUCH! My name is Jennifer, my husband is Jeff, he is a regional rep, so that you could identify us (he is also very tall and Im very short). We also will have a sales table for Theme Parks Magazine on Sunday if you want to stop by.

I got to see Space Mountain with its lights on once, when we were riding the WED people mover, it looks VERY small and tight, I imagine it will be crazy with all the head choppers.

I'll be there bright and early 6:30AM!

3 out of the 5 times that I have been to MK, the lights have been on in SM while we rode through on TTA. The first time I was so excited to see how it works that I stood up in the moving car to get a better view, and a CM had to turn on the PA system and tell me to sit down. That was how I learned that they are watching EVERYTHING that goes on on the rides.

DS was in Disney last week. They went to the YES program Disney offeers. tehy were able to ride SM with the light on then off. I thought it was before the park was open but I might be wrong. That may be a reason for your experience.

DS thought riding it was cool with the lights on.

The YES program is done before the park opens, so your son's group were the only ones in the building at all.

If you are on Space Mountain and the lights come on it is because the ride has broken down. If you keep going all the way down, it is the other side that broke. If you stop out on the track, it is your side that is broke. A CM will come and give your train a push the rest of the way down.

Someone else mentioned a light timer coming on, the lights aren't on a timer! A CM in the tower turns them on and off

I didn't ride it w/ the lights on, but I was in there while they were on. Not nearly as impressive.
