Anyone Been in March?

I am wanting to do a suprise trip for the family in march, We usualy try to plan when crowds are lite and weather is enjoyable, so MAY is our normal time of year to go. However I am not inviting the wife in on the planning of this trip, I want it to be a suprise. So I was wondering what the crowds,weather....etc like around the first week in MARCH?

Our first trip to WDW was in 2005. We travelled Feb 28 to March 6. This was a very nice time ot go. I didn't think that the crowds were bad at all. The weather was okay. Mornings sometimes were in the high 40's but it warmed up nicely until either the high 60's or the low to mid 70's.

If would go again at this time of the year if I could, but now I can't afford to pull my kids from school for that long of a time. We are going to utilitize our schools spring break in mid-March in 2008.

We always go in March with spring break. Usually, toward the end of March. You should be ok with crowds at that time, but it is spring break. I have always found the crowds get more intense the closer you get to Easter. The week before and the week after Easter are the most crowded. Last year, when we first arrived we were surprised at how nice the crowds were. We left on April 1st and by that time it was packed. Easter is early this year ( I think March 25), but if you go in early March you should be ok. The weather is always iffy. We had days in the 90's when we were there, and then days in the 70's. It seemed we always had a cool night. What a great surprise for you family! Good luck planning and keeping it a secret. I did this once, it was fun.

march 2007 it was not bad at all 10 nights at pop and had a great time highly recommend it

We have gone quite a few times in March. We have lucked out with great weather and the crowds were not bad, in spite of spring breaks.

2008 may be different as we are going for 11 days and that will include Easter Sunday and Easter week.

Went March 3-10, the crowds started to show up on March 8. Canadian spring break was the following week; I could tell the next week was going to be crazy. I was glad to be out of there was I was.

March 2005 was horrible in the middle of the month. Spring break crowds were bad and it rained like every day we were there. I much prefer to go in may.

From 1998 -2001 I went during my college spring break (1st week of March). The weather was always perfect, cool nights (50), warm days (80). After I graduated, I started to go every year in May. In my experience,the weather is definitely warmer in May but the crowds are also larger in May. If I could choose between the 2, I would go in March. If you are trying to escape a cold winter, March is a nice break...although avoid Easter of course!

I have gone twice in March and the crowds were not too bad however, Easter is in March this year, so the crowds are likely to be much, much heavier. Can you do mid-April? The Easter crowds will have really thinned out.

Just FYI ... Canada is just like the USA when it comes to spring break ... it can be anytime in March/April depending on the Province and/or school division. Last year's spring break here in Manitoba was March 23 - April 1. 2008's will be March 29-April 6.

Reading week or "college week" in Canada is also different. Again, here in Manitoba it's the second week of February, February 9-17, 2008, and always includes Valentines Day for some reason ... lol.

So ... there's never a "Canadian spring break" per se.

I was just there in the beginning of March with my mom. We had a GREAT time. We hardly waited on ANY lines. The weather was a little different of a story. When we first got there it was super cold in the evenings (although it beat the snow storm in NJ), I had on two sweatshirts and was still cold. However, as the days went on, it got warmer, and by the time we had to go home again, it was warm everyday. We also got all of our ADRs and no problemos on the bus!

Enjoy March! Try to get there before spring breakers make their way down!

Gone several times in March and really enjoy it. The weather is nice and the crowds are lite. It not too hot so you can enjoy the afternoon. We usually go in the morning to the park and pool it in the afternoon when it is warmer.

March 23rd 2008 is Easter this year so you may wnat to factor that in. It is a lovely time of year just figure you may hit some higher rates due to Easter. The crowds will also be affected!

I went during Spring break one year with a girl I was dating at the time. I want to say I went from the 18th - 25th, the beginning of the trip wasn't too bad. By the end, though, the lines were absolutely unbearable; we didn't get to ride splash mountain If you're going to go late in the month, be prepared to shove a lot of stuff into one day toward the beginning of the trip so you aren't as disappointed at the end of the trip after the crowds pick up.

I haven't gone to WDW in March yet but plan to go next year. My college's spring break is always the first full week in March and this last year me and my girlfriend went to visit her grandparents in Tampa Bay and the weather wasn't bad at all. It was in the 70s to 80s every day but got a little chilly at night. We liked the weather and thought the crowds wouldn't be too bad at the beginning of March (away from Easter) and thought it would the perfect time for us to go.

We are planning to go in March 2008. Do you think the 15th - 21st will
be extremely crowded? We've gone twice before in March and
we loved it. But that was always like the 2nd week in March. This
year the kids spring break is pushed back an extra week. Planning on staying at the WL for the first time. Stayed at AKL and POFQ last time.
