Hi there - I thought I would take a chance and see if anyone is currently at the Yacht or Beach Club and would care to give us a "live" report. We'll be there in 4 days and I would love to know what the crowds are like, how was your check-in, is Stromalong Bay crowded? How's the weather? Just anything you wish to share.

I promise to do a live report when I'm there. :goodvibes

Hi Pam! Wish I was there but I will be in 8 days. I broke down and booked a quickie trip this year from July 6-9. Have fun!!

Hi Pam,
I'm not there now but I was a couple of days ago! We stayed at BCV 6/18-24th. It was moderately crowded-better than I expected. We were always able to get at least one chair to put our stuff on at SAB. We checked in early-around 10:30 so there was no wait at all.
The weather was rainy, as you've probably heard. The beginning of last week was just the late day showers, not even thunder. By Wed and Thurs the rain hung out a little longer, maybe from 1 or 2pm until 6, but we still made the most of our days and enjoyed how much cooler it was when the sun wasn't out. Evenings were salvageable, though by the end of our stay we didn't want to go back to the park. Our last night I sat in the jacuzzi in SAB and was able to see some of illuminations. I really didn't want to leave Friday.
A couple of conventions were there last week. One of them was Pampered Chef. I wish I could have taken a peek in there, especially when they were cooking.
I can't wait to hear you reports. Have a great time
:cheer2:

I was there from the 18-24 also. Stayed in the villas. I found it to be quick as far as checking in goes. The pool was okay. We didn't get there until around 2ish so it was hard to find a spot. Lots of kids in the water. Funny thing is that my dd, 11, said the slide was cool but other than that she likes Luna Park at BW better.

And yes, there were hordes of Pamered Chef people everywhere. And several other groups. But on the whole, it was fine. The parks were crowded, as I expected for the early summer vacation time. The weather was fine...partly sunny in the morning, overcast with rain late afternoon and nicer at night.

I have to say that my dd and I decided that there are just too many people and it is waaay too hot during the summertime. We have been in the end of August twice and it has been hot but not nearly as crowded. Looks like more of those after Thanksgiving trips for us.

We will be there on the 10th!! Im really excited and nervous (weather and crowds) I guess Ill think the worst hope for the best!!! :sunny:

We leave Fri. for AKL, but wil be at BC on Sun, looking forward to our first stay there.

I don't even care avout the crowds, heat, or if I get a chair at SAB we need this vacation so bad!

Have fun everyone!! :sunny:

If any of you guys can remember this on your trip to the BC. We stayed in the BCV's and I could not figure out how to turn the light off on the balcony. I like to sit outside after the day is done and everyone else is asleep.
I could not find the switch for the balcony and every bug in Florida came by to visit me.

Thanks.

There is not light switch for the balcony. They keep them on for security purposes. Been there, done that...

I'll take my OFF! so I can hang out on the balcony. We do a lot of that.

I thought I'd bump this thread up just in case someone is at the YC/BC now and wants to report in. I'm taking my laptop and I'll do a live report. I have to take it for work purposes anyway.

Day after tomorrow - I can't believe our trip is almost here. I'm sort of in that pre-trip jitters, nervous phase now. We're driving so we'll pull out of the driveway at 4:30 a.m. Saturday. That'll put us on Disney property, assuming there are no major traffic issues, at or around 1:30. It's 8.5-9 hours for us.

Faxed in my room request this a.m. I simply requested a non-smoking room with a patio or full balcony and a nice of view of something other than a parking lot or kitchen roof. We'll see what happens. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

PamNC,
Have a great trip! I wish I was going back right now. Now that I know I can work around the heat and the rain, I wanna go again!
I'll be looking for your reports.

Hi Pam...are you there yet? We're going in 14 more days!!! :cool1: :cool1: We'll be at BC from 7/16-7/22. I'm dying to know how everything is. Did you get your requests? I requested a full balcony, nonsmoking, daybed room. The thing I'm most curious about however are the crowds? Is it insane or manageable. We are Disney World newbies and just need to know what to expect. I'm trying to talk my family into using the unofficial traveling plans. Are they necessary?

Have fun! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
