Hi Everyone!

My mom has booked her trip to the world on Election day and now certain family members  have asked if she's crazy, apparently there's been talk about a terrorist attack on that day and now she's freaking out!!! Any thoughts on the subject?

I don't worry about things like that. If you don't go anywhere because there might be a chance of a terrorist attack, you will spend the rest of you life trapped in your house.

To be honest, it does bother me that we are flying home 3 days before Election Day. But like JMD said, you can't let the fear of a terrorist attack prevent you from leaving your house ..... and living your life.

There was supposed to be an attack on SuperBowl Sunday also - instead of that we got to see Janet's **** - so you never know what we'll get this time!!! Go and have fun!!!

I work in NYC. If I let the thought of a possible terrorist attack stop me, I'd be in trouble! We gotta live our lives the way we always did....because you never know what's gonna happen!

The way I see it is that attacks are kinda like eathquakes. Both are probably gonna happen again, but there isn't anything you can do about them, so why worry?

Do you sit in your house worrying about earthquakes? Do you change your plans thinking that there may be an earthquake on the day you travel? No, that would be silly.

If you do, then they've won. **** 'em

It's something that has entered my mind but it doesn't stay. With the way of the world these days anything can happen at any time so I can't live in fear. Besides for most of those people on 9/11 all they did was go to work.

Live life.

IMHO, "9/11" was a one trick pony. The MO of terrorism is to strike at weak points when your victims lest expect it. That would logically rule out airplanes around Election Day. Personally, I'd be a lot more worried about riding a packed commuter train around then than flying to Orlando.

Well, I am now!!

Actually, it seems like if there are "rumors" about an attack, then it is less likely to happen on that particular day. It's when we're not expecting it, that they strike.

With all the Hightened Security measures around now on "certain key" days I would have to be on the side that 9/11 and Election day would be one of the SAFEST days to fly.

Maybe I am holding onto that because we will be flying home next Sept 11th from our trip.

But seriously though, Those big ticket days are already flagged now as a possible attacks (not just this year but probably many more to come) so to me the government will beef up security and take xtra measures so that something like 9/11/01 doesn't happen again!

Relax and enjoy your trip... Remember Y2K was also supposed to cripple to world as well :badpc:

Now if only we could get :teleport: down, Traveling would be much easier.

I'm not really concerned that I'll be flying 3 days before the election and 5 days after.

I think they'll attack in a different way next time to be honest and I won't let them change my way of life either.

If by some chance something were to happen, which I highly doubt, then I would chalk it up to my time being up.
