Anybody's kids in hockey?

Glad to hear you will help out..this is what you wrote and it sure didn't sound like you would be willing to help out.

I'm not excited about it. I have made two rules for dh on this (1) I will do NOTHING for this sport other than attend games where I will cheer crazily for my boy -he has to set everything up for DS and take him to all practices, no matter the time;

Regarding encouraging your kid to be a goalie... The reason that leagues may cut the cost for goalies is they feel sorry for all the extra $$$ you have to spend on goalie gear! Also, don't let your kid play goalie unless you have nerves of steel... There's nothing like the feeling in your stomach when your team's defence coughs up a breakaway and your kid is the only thing in the way of the attacker scoring! Our 11 year-old is a goalie.

I've been around Hockey my entire life [cousins played and now boyfriend does] and I'm pretty calm watching games. I don't worry if he's just playing....I probally could smack his arm and hurt him more than being checked or hit could!

But It is quite the family-feeling sport. His teammates and I are good friends, they love seeing me come to games to support them and his goalie [who is actually female] has a daughter that comes to almost every game! We sit and laugh and generally have a grand time!

you're right - I did write it that way. I really just meant that DH couldn't shirk his duty bc of early practices - which I could see him doing as he is a sleeper. But if he had to work late, or is out of town, or sick, that kind of thing, I would always step up. I would just not do it if the only reason dh didn't want to was bc he wanted to sleep late or something lame like that. His want for our DS, his responsibility. Sorry for the confusion!
