I just started watching this within the past few months. Not sure why because it's all a bunch of superficial garbage - but it's entertaining me.

Anyway - I have to say that I just CANNOT stand Dr. Rey. He is so superficial and SOOOO into himself that it's a complete turnoff. I feel so bad for his wife and kids. Hailey seems so miserable. She's home all day long with the kids- wandering around a house she seems to hate while Dr Rey is at work being a "hero" and beng touchy feely with his patients. Then Hailey is making and eating dinner with the kids, cleaning up and getting everybody off to bed - while her husband is off doing one of his 4 different martial arts classes - not getting home till after 8... Just a sad, sad family IMO.

Now.. Dr. Diamond... I could watch him all the time - he's so dang cute inside and out

I completely agree. I am watching right now too! You would think he would see himself on TV and realize how selfish he is. I realized when his wife was pregnant with #2 and told him she was not feeling well but had to get her DD's B day party ready, so she asked him to help which meant he would have to skip Tae Kwon Do and he told her that he just couldn't, he needed it to be in the right frame of mind for the party.

So selfish!

Man watch out with that pimp gray and pink suit!

Did you see the black pinstripe with the NOT so subtle stripes - with the magenta shirt and hankerchief??

Then he had that one with the checks on it- - Does he think he looks good because all I do is :lmao: when I see his outfits.

I have only watched this a few times, last Sunday there was a marathon. Dr. Rey's wife looks so miserable, she isn't eating. I wanted to watch this season where she goes home but I haven't yet....

There was one on a couple of weeks ago when he was tested for his black belt. He was talking about how his father treated him. He said he has self esteem issues. I thought it was one of the more interesting shows featuring him.

It is so sad. I feel very sorry for his wife, she does appear very miserable. He is just gross. I mean have you seen what he wears to surgery???? I think he has a lot of issues, self esteem being one of them. I would be really turned off as a patient if he was my physician. YUCK! I love DR. Diamond and those 2 cute brothers, think they are middle eastern.

I think this show is a hoot!

The scrubs that he wears to surgery look like he had them altered to show off his arms. Ick!

And I find his bedside manner offensive. I wouldn't want my surgeon telling me how hot I am and how hot I am going to look.

But in his defense -- it was his wife who wanted to move to the big house not him. She does seem so miserable there though -- but she seemed pretty sad and overhelmed in the old house too.

I can't stand Dr. Rey. I remember one episode where he was trying to talk a woman into getting bigger breast implants than she wanetd.

I don't feel too bad for his wife, though. She's the one who wanted the big mansion, and he told her that he'd have to work longer hours and leave her alone more often if they bought it. I think she's pretty whiny, actually. I can think of worse things in life than taking care of two cute little kids in a huge Beverly Hills mansion. :sad2:

I have been watching this show for awhile and I agree that Dr Rey is selfish. His wife is disappearing before him and he takes another karate class!! :confused3 But I do feel his wife needs to get a life!! Stop living in her husbands shadow and take care of herself and put her foot down! It drives me crazy! She is the one who wanted that huge house, not him. Now she hates it and looks like they will probably sell it. She looks so miserable. In a past episode they showed him going back to his country and doing plastic surgery for free for children who had major deformaties and problems. It was so touching and it showed a different side of him.

I don't usually watch this show, only when nothing else is on, but I did happen to catch this show. His wife did want the bigger house, and he did say that he would have to work more hours for it.

I also watched this episode. I don't feel bad for his wife - she has major issues and needs to get help. It seems like she just wants his attention. He warned her about moving into the house - he was worried about being able to afford it.

I guess I am in the "out" group but, I love Dr. Rey. :thumbsup2 Yes, he is into himself. Yes, he has awful bedside manner. Yes, he looks silly in his suits. Yes, he has the goofy capped sleeved scrubs. But, he does an awesome job on these women and men with their surgeries. I watched last night where he tried to convince the stripper that was on to get a smaller size than what she wanted but, she insisted on getting them huge.
His wife is another story. She is living it up. She has an eating disorder obviously. She is way too skinny. I think they have brought it up to her. She is very whiny. Their daughter is a major brat and I think she gets it from her mom. I watched a show where she hit her dad and yelled at him. AND nobody did anything about.
I watch the show mainly for the humor of it. :thumbsup2

great show... my gf and I are a bit addicted!

did you see the one where Dr. Rey wanted ANOTHER kid and was trying to pressure his wife into popping it out for him? Meanwhile, she looks like she might die soon from sheer exhaustion (I think they had what ... three kids under five already...? maybe only two...?.) She's adamant that she doesn't want another right now, but in a voiceover he says something like "I know I'll eventually win out and she'll have another baby". I was so pissed off at him -- she's the one who stays at home all day and takes care of the kids, she's the one who has to actually be pregnant, but he thinks that he can just have whatever *he* wants, even if it means destroying her body and mind. She looks like death most of the time ... I agree she needs some help but you've got to wonder to what degree he controls her life.

On the other hand... I do sort of love his suits! I think he's a pretty, pretty man who likes to dress up a bit....

Oh! did you guys see the one where ... ahem ... a woman was getting her butthole bleached!???

I love Dr. 90210. I think both the Reys have issues, but Dr. Rey is so obsessed with his Tai Kwon Doe, he sometimes makes it ridiculous. I like all the other doctors on that show though.

I saw the bleaching episode. I guess I havent been around much but 1. I didnt know people did that and 2. I didnt know there was a need for it. And how do you decide its looking a little "dingy" back there :confused3

I do like Dr Rey. I didnt at first but he grew on me. I dont care for his pimp suits but I still think he is a cutie. Im sure his wife knew what he was like before they married. I do agree he needs to be around more for her and the kids but she should also do something to occupy her time other than waiting for him. maybe do some volunteer work, or take some classes.

Eh?

I've never heard of that! Sorry I missed it!

I just finished watching several episodes of Dr.90210 (West Coast here)..I love the show even if it is pretty superficial, some of the story lines are pretty good. I like watching the people who come in and REALLY need plastic surgery done ( ie, nose jobs to help breathing issues, etc) and seeing how happy they are when it's all complete.

Dr. Rey is rather annoying, I used to find him amusing but his obession with his karate and his weirdo bedside manner irk me for some reason. I know his wife asked for the new house and he told her he'd have to work more, but he admitted he is more efficient at work and THEN goes to his karate classes..if he cut back on those, he'd be home much sooner.

I LOVE Dr. Diamond and Dr. Li..I really enjoy watching their segments!

I watch too....and agree with most of you here - we can't stand Dr. Rey and we love Dr. Diamond. Though I have to say I don't really see him as a good fit with his new wife Jessica. She wants to quit working, for what reason? She is not even pregnant! WHy quit a job as a physician to just stay home? :confused3 Not a fan of her...and also not a fan of Hailey either. She clearly stays for the $$$. Why else would she stay? Again, :confused3 .

I watch it from time to time and it is true Hailey wanted the bigger house and Dr. Rey (Robert) told her he would have to work longer hours to afford it.

I also saw an episode where Dr. Rey asked Hailey to start a journal of the foods she is eating. He is aware she has this eating problem and is aware how busy she is with the MANSION and the kids...BUT I, like other posters agree Haily needs to get a life and get involved in other activities that SHE might just like for herself. She does look so sad all the time.

Did anyone see Danny Bonaduce's show (Breaking Bonaduce) and his wife (Gretchen) was in a musical group...she LOVED that but Danny didn't...(he has issues)...Gretchen also spent quality time with her girl friends.

But that is what Hailey needs..time with her girl friends..shopping, eating out, going to the gym and build some muscles, going to the Spa. Spend some of Dr. Rey's $$$$. :goodvibes

ETA: Did anyone see the episode where Dr. Rey said that his father was verbally and physically abusive to him...yup, he had a horrible life as a young child. I am amazed at how well he turned out to have had the childhood he had with that father.

That's my issue. He works hard all day long and deserves some off time - but there's something wrong when he chooses 4 out of 5 nights to do something 100% for himself and doeesn't get home till after his kids are asleep. Then the 5th night is "date night" - yet another night he's not with his kids (and barely "with" his wife even - it's still focused 100% on him)

I do feel bad for his wife - but at the same time I know she choose much of this. I think though that life could be MUCH better if Dr Rey made some sacrifices. I mean really - 4 DIFFERENT kinds of martial arts 4 nights a week is ridiculous!
