Anybody stay at TROPICAL PALMS FUN RESORT???

We have plans in a few days for a suite with BAD reviews, thinking of the Tropical Palms Fun Resort instead...what are these cottages like inside... Rustic like a bare cabin or more like a Hotel room? Are the Pools nice, the atmoshere, the staff....Anybody who stayed, please PLEASE post with your reviews, thank you!

Is this the place on 192 that also has a camp ground. Right behind Old Town?

We loved it. Our "cabin" was very colorful and big. It had a loft, a couch and two beds. A small kitchen with a small fridge, stove, and micro, I think. I believe we had cable tv also. A cute front porch with a sliding door leading to it. It was very peaceful sitting on it at night. It's been 7 years since we were there (they didn't have fun in their name then), but we sent my daughters mil down there last year, and they are still thanking us. The campground part was nice too, for anyone wanting to camp. We walked to Old Town in the evenings, and enjoyed their pool.

They have a brochure with pictures of the inside and outside of the cabins..at least they used to.
Vey nice location, and I believe you could see the Epcot Sphere.

We stayed there for two nights last year & had a great time. The cabins are actually trailers made to look like cabins. We picked the 'most expensive' cabin which was a 2bdr. The larger studio was the same size, but didn't have room dividers. The walls were well worth the extra $10 per night. We spent $79 per night. Our family felt like we got a great deal. The bedrooms are small - just about room for a bed, closet & room to walk around it. Dh and I took the smaller bedroom at the end of the cottage & younger ds took the loft & older ds took the bedroom below the loft. It was much more comfortable than a hotel room. In the later afternoon, younger ds would play basketball, older ds & dh watched TV & I could read out on the deck. There was a small kitchen with a fridge, stove etc. While we absolutely did no cooking while we were there, we found it convenient to store & reheat leftovers from our dinners out. They also have a cook to order small cafe right off of the pool. When we were there it was 2.99 for breakfast - there's a couple tables & counter service as well as extra tables out by the pool. We thought it was a great breakfast deal & ate there every morning.One day we even met a couple from our town! Go to Tropicalpalms.com for a look at what they have to offer.

I was getting ansy since we are leaving in 2 days and the place we were going had AWFUL reviews, you convinced me (thanks for your QUICK reply) I called and we got the VERY LAST 2 bedroom cottage. I was wondering how many of these cottages is there??? Does this mean the place will be crowded big time? Was all the cottages full when you went? I hope the pool isn't overcrowded, that's all I care about. Hope it's nice and BIG.

Violet, we were there at the end of October & it wasn't crowded then. In fact, in our cluster of 4 cottages ours was the only one occupied. It was very quiet. Half of the park is set up with RVs & half is set up with RV cottages. The side you'll be on has the little cottages. The streets were winding & the cottages clustered so I don't think you'll feel crowded. The pool was a good sized pool - not huge but it looked like it had plenty of room. It was too cold for us to swim then, but I did see people at the pool. All of the people seemed very friendly & since it is an RV park they get 'regulars' that visit every year. I liked being able to take a walk in the morning since I do that everyday at home too. They also had a nice basketball court which ds used. It was fun being so close to Old Town -even though its kind of tacky our family has always loved souvineer shopping there! So you got the last 2bdr! I'm surprised that they are so busy in mid April.

I'm the one who has printed all the rave reviews and if you do a search on Tropical Palms you'll find my very detailed reports..

We LOVED it - there's just no other word to explain it.. It's a great place - relatively inexpensive in the grand scheme of things - and it's great to leave the parks after a long, tiring day and feel like you're going "home" - not to a hotel..
