How was the service? Was the car in good condition? Any other surprise charges that turned up?

Thank you!

We've gotten them a few times via Priceline. They were fine...neither overwhelmingly great nor hideously terrible. The counter lines were either short, or else, when it was crowded, they had enough people to handle it so the wait wasn't unreasonably long. The cars are usually more banging up an Avis's, although last time we were in a nice, new vehicle with less than a thousand miles on it...it still had that wonderful new car smell. I don't like the fact that you're not assigned a car, which means that you have to wait in a second line to leave the garage rather than just driving away like with Avis. But they've never been overly pushy with the insurance or extras, and last time they even upgraded us because they were out of the car class we rented (they won't tell you that...they'll try to get you to upgrade for a fee at the counter, and you'll find out if the car class is gone once you search all over the garage). I think they are fine if the price is right.

Have never had a problem with Alamo, the cars are in very good condition, low mileage and what you are quoted is what you pay, assuming you keep to the contract ( ie: renting for a week but returning it after 3 days to get the weekly rate).

Alamo is terrible. Poor service by absolutely the worst employees imaginable. They changed my weekly rate from $124 to over $400 a week. Never will I rent from Alamo again. Even if it is free. The only way I got my money back was thanks to my discover card and having paper documentation.

SAY NO TO ALAMO.......

Didn't you book a weekly rate and return it early?
