Anybody familiar w/MS Photo Editor?

I figured out how to take out a name on a design by cutting out the old one and pasting the color back into the empty space, but how do you put in a new name? I thought I could just copy/cut & paste from something else to put it in the design, but it won't let me paste it in. Does anybody know how. Am I using the wrong kind of program? This is what's on my computer right now & I'm not at all savvy on any of this, but would like to learn.
