I have not read a book in ages but decided while we were in Myrtle Beach last week I was going to read a book! :) I went to Borders and got LEFT BEHIND by Tim Lahaye & Jerry B. Jenkins. I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!! By Thursday, I was done with it. Then on the drive home, I was going north on US 220. I believe I was still in SC at the time. I looked up and there on a street sign. The name of the street was New Hope Church Road!!! :earseek:
If you've read Left Behind you will remember that New Hope is the name of the church mentioned in it. Talk about getting goose bumps!!! :scared1:
I can hardly wait to read the next book in this series.

I have read all of the Left Behind books and yes, they are page turners. I highly recommend that you keep going in the series. That is awesome that you saw that church! The books have changed my life in many ways. I was already a Christian when I started reading them, but my focus changed and I am so much more aware of things now. Enjoy them! :cool1:

I read them up until the 6th book or so. They were good.

I have read them all, except the latest one I guess. They are good, although the last 3 or so DRAG on and on.

I read the first 10 and I read some of them in one day!! I need to keep going though.

We've all enjoyed the series here...

Kind of a funny story - When the series first came out - there was a pastor who made a tape like the one in the first book as an evangelistic outreach - my sister had already read the book. She had put the tape into watch and dosed off... she woke up toward the end of the tape and for a second thought she'd REALLY been left behind... that the rapture had happened without her... :rotfl2:

She was VERY freaked out.. :earseek: I still tease her about it...

I've read them all but I also purchased the unabridged tape versions to listen to while driving. it got my kids and hubby into the story some, they got to asking questions and some great question and answer sessions happened. my hubby would never even pick up a book or participate in anything he viewed as "religious" and he even got into them. it's pretty compelling start to be flying along without a care in the world and then all of a sudden the people around you disappear!!!

I've read the whole series. I liked it quite a lot through *most* of it. The last couple of books sort of started to lose me, and I didn't care for the last one much at all. I don't want to really go into why, but by the time the book was done, I was glad it was over and didn't care for their interpretation of everything. I also didn't like the underlying dislikes towards some specific religions. But as a whole, the series was pretty good :)
