There are very strong rumors out there floating around from both workers from best buy and circuit city that they are holding all their wii's for a sunday ad sale. Best buy's is rumored to happen next weekend and circuit city's in early Feb. Who knows if this is true but I guess we'll just wait and see! It would make sense though since the wii hasn't been promised in any ad for a long time.

Our Circuit City in Merritt Island, Fl had the Wii's and pretty much everything you'd want to go with them.

I have to tell you in my experience, you need to go to the stores and ask. They have so many people coming in to see if the have wii's that I have found pretty much all the stores have adopted the standard practice of telling people on the phone that they don't have any, even when they do. I actually had a guy at EBgames tell me that is what they do, because if they said they had them and they were sold by the time a customer came in, then they would have a mad customer. It happened to me at Circuit City, where a guy told me they might get some in the next morning. I called the next morning and was told they did not get them in. So I didn't go , then was driving by there later in the morning and stopped in to see if they did get them in, and was there in time to see the last one being sold!!!!!!!!!! Turns out they had them in the morning, but were not telling people on the phone this.

That has been my theory on it also. I call occassionally, but prefer to go in person.

ITA with my4kids - keep checking and ask. I just bought one this AM at EB Games after no luck at Best Buy and Target. Even though the sign said they didn't have any, I asked when they might expect to get some in. The guy just smiled and said they just opened the box - I lucked out!!!!! People were calling while I was there, but they won't hold them, so I suggest you check in person around 11 AM which seem to be when shipments arrive.

This is only the 2nd time I've actively searched for one, so it can be done. Don't give up - I really think they'll become more and more available soon.

We just got one today at TRU I went to one and they were already sold out and my husband went by another and they were just getting them. They recieved 12 at that store and 15 at another tru. It seems that they get their shipments on Tuesday around noon time. I am just SOOOOOO happy we finally got one. That is what my son is getting for his birthday and it is Thursday so just in time.

Thanks to your tip, I got a WII !!!!!! I just called TRU after reading your comment and they had 4 in stock. I raced over there (luckily I didn't get a speeding ticket). It took me 15 minutes, and they had 3 left when I got there! My son is thrilled.

I just got my Wii! I followed the tips on the boards and kept checking in the stores. Every store I went in said, "We don't know..Blah, blah, blah..." But Target had remotes so I bought two in hopes of scoring a Wii in the future. When I walked across the mall to EBGames and asked the salesperson how to score a Wii he told me that he might be expecting some in his shipment and to come back around 5 (it was 3:45). I walked around the mall for 15 mins and decided to go back to the store to check out the games so I wouldn't have to if the Wii should appear - and within 15 mins the delivery guy came with one Wii - I bought it and 3 games and I'm a one happy DIS'er! Patience paid off, listening to you all paid off, and I'm forever grateful not to have stood in an all night line! Off to Wiiland! Good luck to everone who's still being patient and thanks to all of those who offered advice!

Thats how I was feeling today but then we just got lucky. Tomorrow I would check with Targets and Wal-marts they seem to get theirs on Weds. I know they did last week. Good Luck!

Alright. I tried wholeheartedly, lines, wii tracker, the DIS, running all over town before Christmas. All in vain. It killed me that I didn't produce it under the tree for my son when that was the only thing he asked Santa for. After Christmas, I have taken the search down a notch, not in a panic, because I had 2 months to his birthday. Now I'm starting to get scared again. I have been all over town this week, trying to hit the stores when they get their shippments in, wathcing wii seeker, etc...still nothing. The only thing I have is a nun chuck from Target, but that is all I found.

Any more advice? Any recent tips, or sightings?

Hi, in my area( MASS.) it seems that EB games gets them on a regular basis. They usually only get 3 or 4 just ask. Get there when the store opens and ask when they get their UPS order. Good Luck

Have you been able to get just the console with the basic games for $250 or just the more expensive bundles that they have been offering online?
