We are currently renovating our bathrooms and thought it might be fun to have a Disney theme in the bathroom off of our family room. I know places like Home Depot and online stores offer Disney merchandise, but since we will be there soon wondered if there were any "Home" stores in WDW where I could look around and "see and feel" some fun stuff. I am especially interested in wall coverings. Thanks for any information. :flower3:

I think the Disney at Home store in DD had some borders, but you will probably pay a lot more for them than you would at Home Depot or online someplace.

In my last house we had a room totally Disney. I did better in my local market than at Disney Also another good place to find Disney is Ebay.

We are now doing another room at our new house in Disney as well as my kitchen. Actually the kitchen is easier to do. Disney seems to have a lot of kitchen stuff.

Don't get me wrong we have found several items at Disney that we could not find at home.

We bought border paper. then striped red and white wall paper. My curtains I bought yellow and red material. It looked really good with all of the Disney extra things in the room.

Another good place to find Disney is if you are near any antique markets. I have found so much stuff there that is different and some is really not that bad in price.

I agree, the wallpapers etc. will be cheaper and a better selection at Home Depot. However, the Disney at Home store at DD has a lot of great accessories; drawer pulls, towel racks, soap dishes, etc. etc....

I forgot to mention. Another great place is the store in the Contemporary. It usually has somethins that you can't find anywhere else in Disney. I found this out a couple of trips ago.

You really must try and hit all of stores. We have found even though they all basically car ry the same items, usually there is one or two things that each store has that you will not have seen in the other stores. I have even found things in the the resorts stores. The home store in Disney was a dissapointed to me. Since most of the stuff I had seen in all of the other stores throughout Disney. I guess I was expecting a store that carried more decorating items other than kitchen. I also get the Disney catalgoue which is very good for kitchen items that you can't find in Disney along with bedding.

Where exactly is this store in the Contemporary? Sounds like something I definitely want to check out.

When you get off the monorail come down to the next level ( where chef mickeys and the other restaurants are). The stores are at the other end. It is a big store. One of the stores on one side is strickly for kids and then there is this one on t he other side.

If you are looking out towards the end of the building it is on your right, or towards the MK>

The Sherwin Williams paint store by our house had a wallpaper book last winter when we were in there. Some of course was more of a kid's look but other's weren't. Both the bathrooms in our house are Disney. For one I found wallpaper that was white and had squares of Mickey's sillhoutte in it. I did that half way and the coordinating border is in red's, blues, yellow's with the black and white in it as well. It is actually cartoon like Mickey's. I painted the vanity and linen closet the same red and have black and white tile. The drawer pulls are the white ceramic Mickey hands from the DD store. For my other bathroom I wanted something a little more subtle and with a DVC theme. We are members and I had some lithographs I wanted to use on the walls of the BWV. I painted 3 walls a coordinating soft blue and one yellow. I sprung for the Kohler Mickey faucet and towel rack. I have the towels from the DD home store that are all one color ( they have many) and have the Mickey ears as texture all over the towels. You should also look at the Kohler sinks, they are beautiful. They have a Disney line and you should be able to find it on the web. I have a BIL that has his own plumbing business so we got a break on the price. That line isn't cheap.

Thank you for all your ideas. I will check out the DD store while I'm there, and the one at the CR is one of my favorites, too - I can look there with a fresh eye. I have a Sherwin Williams and a Home Depot nearby and I will also look at the Kohler line and EBay too! Your homes sound nice and fun too.

I could have sworn there was one at MGM but maybe I'm mistaken. But these will be good places to start.

Thank you! :flower3: princess:

Just another idea. In my old house the room that was Disney was my sewing and computer room. Besides the wall paper and curtain I told you about we had cabinets in white, the counter tops were in red and the wall between the counter tops and cabinets was yellow. My husband is in the contracting business. I also would buy post cards and frame them for some of the art work in the room. I had also bought a couple of pictures from the Art of Disney that was not much money. Around $45.00.

Now that we are doing the kitchen as well as the sewing room in our new house, I have the Mickey TV actually two of them, one in thekitchen and one in the sewing room. Two sets of our kids each gave us one for Xmas last year. I have bought handles for the cabinets and I went into the scapebooking area at Disney and pick up stickets with the signatures of the characters and I am putting some of them on the cabinets.

What I have been doing on our last trips to Disney was to collect menus from the different resturants, even if we had not eaten there, and I am going to modge mod them to the ceiling.

In MGM there is a bookstore and I found this childs toy which was a set to draw and in it, it had stencils of the different characters heads and I am going to be using them also.

Jus a couple of ideas.
