Any way to cancel CRT prepaid ressie?

Hey all! I'm asking this on behalf of my cousin who has a trip planned for her family in December. One of her kids has become seriously ill and will most likely need critical heart surgery in the coming weeks, therefore cancelling their trip.

They had a CRT ressie that she's fretting about losing money on. I suggested she call Disney and explain their situation and even offer to provide doctor's proof and that Disney might offer a refund.

Does anyone know of the chance of this happening?

I believe that as long as she cancels at least 3 days before the reservation, she'll get a full refund. No questions asked/explanation needed.
