Any Virginia Beach experts

I am taking my 2 daughters to Virginia Beach for a cheer competition the first weekend in May. I am looking for a decent hotel that you could walk from to the convention center. I am trying not to rent a car. Not too expensive but not gross either! Thanks for any help.

The only one I know of is the Doubletree adjacent to the convention center. None of the other hotels in the area are what I would call walking distance.

After I googled it, there also appears to be a Quality Inn close by.

I've never stayed at either, and can't attest to anything but their proximity.

The convention center is about 10-15 block inland from the strip....The further away from Atlantic ave you go the less the hotels and more rundown....The Doubletree will be the best one there.
