Any updates on Genie+ release date

Well, Disney is one of the most valuable companies in the world, and probably has an MBA or two on staff and maybe even a project manager…so if they think it is ready to go then they will launch it.

If they don’t, then they won’t, as it hasn’t launched yet, but if it does launch this month my guess is they have a better idea (and resources) to determine the best timing.

Besides, it’s not like Disneyland hasn’t a version of this before, WAY back in 2020…so those who choose to purchase it can probably figure it out.
Right - but if it were ready, then why do you suppose it's not out? If it were the same as MP, why isn't it out? As people have previously said, things have changed and G+ had to be tweaked considerably to work on top of current Park Reservations and ADRs, etc (this was a big part of the boards earlier this year). CM kept testing the program and it wasn't working. WDW has it down - so, why do you suggest DL hasn't launched it if everything is set and/or has been done before? You really think that guests won't have questions or concerns since MP existed previously? Let's make a friendly wager and come back to this thread during the first week it's out!

I think the disconnect we are having is the fact that I said “If Disney thinks it’s ready (A BIG if) they will launch it.”

Obviously since it hasn’t launched, Disney does not think it’s ready. And where we agree: Definitely don’t launch Disney+ if it’s not ready.

My overarching point is: If Disney thinks it’s ready to go on December 17th, 22nd, or some other date, then they should, and probably will, launch it.

And if Disney ends up thinking it’s ready (who knows) then it’s a fairly common sense assumption that they have more information to be confident than you or me.

And the idea it sounds like you have to wait until no guests would have questions is completely unrealistic, and would be a poor decision from a business and guest experience.

Here is to hoping it’s ready to launch sooner than later.

That's a strawman - I clearly don't think they can or should wait until there are no questions from guests (of course - who ... anyway). It sounds like you also have a lot of experience in project management and realize that launching a new product during a stressful time works well for your company. I've had different experiences and tend to work with people who prefer planning launches for times that are more conducive to working through problems (I mean, I would imagine that Genie+ would make people interested to come try it - anyone who wants to can't spontaneously do that for the next month).

I’ll put this on me, I obviously have done a poor job explaining my view.

And I don’t really know what we are debating at this point.

So here is to great trips to Disneyland for all, with or without Genie+!

And, I'm sorry if I was obnoxious.

The absolute LAST thing Disneyland needs right now is more bad press. I don't expect Genie+ to launch this month, although at this point I wouldn't put anything past them.
I concur. I don’t know that DLR wants the headache. What happened at thanksgiving at WDW was ugly, G+ was a total waste of money with those crowds and it’s uncapped sales.

Also, it takes CMs so that could actually be a problem for DLR. On my trip to WDW after G+ launched I noticed a lot more guest services CMs in the park and more CMs outside the rides (as they constantly end up explaining the system to mystified guests).

Disney had to post a 15 min YouTube video to explain what it is, so I can't imagine how many questions front line CM's get. o_O

Here now. Had family who happened to be here at the same time that were doing a VIP tour and they were so kind to invite my family along with theirs. Anyway, the plaid leading the tour said that Genie+ was probably releasing in a couple days. Don't know how true this is, but he said he had reason to believe that (didn't elaborate).

Very exciting if true, we’d love to have it over Christmas!

Does anyone know what is being used at the haunted mansion fast pass the return lane? People are scanning their cards and it turns green and they go into a separate line. this is not DAS.

VIP Tour, Club 33 members, cast members in training testing Genie+, some lucky guests testing Genie+, guest recovery . . . . . . . . .

My guess is guest recovery (from this list). I didn’t get a C33 vibe, and VIP tours with plaids don’t make the guests scan cards/passes like the rest of us plebs, right?

I wonder now if Genie+ was held off until It’s a Small World was open? During the holidays it is a pretty high demand ride and having LL as an option will both make it more valuable and help other rides not have their LL reservations fill up so fast.
