All the internet articles I see are at least a year old. The latest ones say that Del Toro had other projects on the pipeline ahead of the HM movie. Any new info? The HM is my favorite attraction, I cant wait to see the redo.

Some months ago, Disney announced it was stopping production of a movie already in progress and writing off $50 million it had spent on it. I've been hoping since that announcement that it wasn't HM as they didn't say what movie it was. Given how much that movie was hyped in pre-production and with no word since then, I fear it may have been the one on the chopping block.

From an interview with Guillermo del Toro in July:
Yeah, we are still pursuing a writer that is very hard to get. We are meeting with them. The problem is I dont want just anyone to rewrite the screenplay. I wrote the screenplay with Mathew Robbins and I really want somebody that will bring a lot to it, but Disney is aching to make it and Im aching to make it. If we could& If you know of anyone who can write, because Im only going to produce it, I would love to hear.

Thanks foor the update guys, even if the news are not good. I'll keep hoping. Perhaps the 50 million were spent planning the blockbuster: "John Carter, the Lone Ranger and Maggie against the Yodelling Four-armed Rustlers".

1) Can it POSSIBLY be any better than the 2003 movie with Ediie Murohy?
2) That one was a real hoot! :sad1:

I hang my head in shame to admit this...

But my 2 older kids love that stupid movie. It's been on one of the premium movie channels for a while now, and I think we've watched it 4 or 5 times now.

I now surrender my Disney Parent card for destruction...

Do not feel bad my kiddos love that dumb movie and watch it whenever it's on too. So we can both give up our Disney Parent cards. But hey at least i don't let them lick the hand rails in the parks. ;0)
