Well not totally wrinkle free, but is there a better way to pack clothes to minimize ironing on vacation?? Any packing tricks? Thanks.

Honestly, I pack all my tops/blouses on hangers and then just fold over the stack of them into my LLBean rolling duffle. Whatever wrinkles might come from packing seem to go away by the time I wear them.

Some pack things in dry cleaning bags or roll them....but I have never had a wrinkle problem.

I use packing cubes for all my other stuff.

I have found that if I iron at home and then neatly roll each item and then place it in the suitcase, my clothes are much less wrinkled. I am an ironing fanatic! I HATE wrinkled clothes! I iron everything at home, everyday, both my clothes and my DS, who is now 12. Jeans, shorts, t-shirts....you name it, I iron it. I completely unpack when I arrive and use a small spray bottle of wrinkle release and hang as much as I can in the closets too. When we are in a hotel, I just iron everyday, but on the cruise, since I would have to go to the laundry room, I use my roll, spray, hang method. I hope that helps. If you are going away overnight before your cruise, try it to see if it works for you. We travel A LOT and so far so good! Enjoy your cruise!!!

I was going to say just this! We ironed our clothes at home and then rolled them and packed them into large zip bags (we could easily fit 3-4 shirts..the bags are huge). They even have these packing cubes that help for this too. But rolling the clothes and then packing has worked great for us. :goodvibes

ugh. ironing. Fortunately, having things pressed on the cruise is fairly inexpensive.

The clothes I take are usually wrinkle-free to begin with, but I always fold my shirts using tissue paper. Never had a problem with them.

I heard a tip many years ago, and it has worked perfectly every time. Pack your clothes with each one in a plastic bag - the kind they come back from the cleaners in. Fold each item separately, enclosed in this plastic, and they will come out looking great.

Does anyone remember the cost for having items pressed and/or dry cleaned?

I ALWAYS travel with a small spray water bottle... when I take my clothes out to wear or hang up in the closet, I lightly spray them with a mist of water and 99% of the time it does the trick in getting the wrinkles out. I will give them a light spray if I'm putting on clothes that have some wrinkles on it, and actually think it works faster in getting them out since my body temperature gets the clothes warm. Works like a charm on my kids' clothes as well, and actually I just sprayed my 5yr old DS's t-shirt for picture day at school today! :lmao::thumbsup2

You can get a small spray bottle at Target for a dollar or two...

Here are my tricks for not having crease lines when I unpack my clothes. Everything lays flat in the suitcase with just a minimal amount of folding.

Shirts: I just fold the sleeves under and lay shirts flat in the suitcase; shorts go in the suitcase just folded in half long ways along the back seam. Capris are also folded along the back seam, and I might have to fold up an inch or two at the hem. Pants do have to get folded in half, but that's only one crease line that usually falls out when I hang them.
When I unpack I hang a top and bottom together on one hanger so that it takes up less space in the closet, and my outfits are already matched up. Wish I were packing a suitcase today!

The price list is in the FAQ sticky and is still current. Pressing is half the cost of cleaning.

On the Magic 2 weeks ago, I believe we paid like $23.00 for pressing only.

I don't remember exactly but it was like 8 pair of pants and maybe 6 shirts.

No tips on packing, but Downey Wrinkle Releaser is my best friend. I hate ironing.

I roll up things that will wrinkle with something that won't - like a sweater or a nightgown. That works pretty well for me.

Ahh, great tips everyone... Thank you!! I highly dislike ironing, esp. on vacation!

As for the rolling tip.. do this always in plastic or will it also work without it?

I never roll with plastic. Always with other pieces of clothing.

I pack tissue paper inside my formal wear (men & women's) and a wad of tissue paper where it folds. This alleviates most or all of the wrinkles.

That's what I use...Downey Wrinkle Releaser. It works great. On my last cruise, as I unpacked I sprayed each item and then hung them up. When it was time to wear them, they looked great. I use it anytime I travel. I actually use it at home too. I hate to iron too!

We use Downy wrinkle release. When we use it at home, the smell brings back memories of our past Disney cruises. :)
