Any tips on OKW with an ECV?

I did call when we made our reservations so she added first floor for medical reasons (although upper floor would be fine with an elevator). What I'm concerned about is waiting for the bus, then not being able to get on because there is no more ECV availability, so then I have to wait for the next bus. Any tips to get a good experience?

Before my Dad got his knee replacement we did a scooter several times at OKW and WLV. We only had to wait once for another bus as they can fit two ECVs on each bus. The bus drivers are always wonderful and accommodating and they let the family riding with the ECV on the bus first. You'll be fine and have a great trip.

It's all just timing. It's not too often we have had to ever wait when traveling with a wheelchair or ECV but you just have to get in line. It's like too many people filling a bus before you get on - now and then you just have to wait.

And most people will understand about the room an ECV takes so don't feel uncomfortable that others may have to move. It's just the way it works with the design Disney has on their buses.

The seats are labeled that they are for handicapped guests. Now the sad part is if a handicapped guest is sitting in those seats and an ECV takes them over will the other guests give the handicapped guest their seats?

We ride the buses almost exclusively (albeit not at OKW), and I've never seen that happen.

Occasionally, I've seen the bus driver ask people sitting in those seats to move so that an ECV can be loaded. Those asked to move have always done so without complaint.

I've never seen anyone in those seats who appears to be handicapped & didn't arrive on an ECV. It's usually families with children & strollers and there have been other seats available.

You shouldn't, you can't help it that you use an ECV. And does give you some independence. One time I was in a wheelchair due to an ER visit while at WDW and I really felt bad that DH had to push me around the parks. Some of the slopes are pretty steep in parks, EPCOT and DAK are both really bad.
