Hi,

We're going to Universal the last 2 days of our Disney trip. I don't feel like switching hotels as we usually do. We're AP holders and it will be time to renew our passes. Are there any ticket deals out there? Thanks!

i have stayed with the preferred annual pass because it is cheaper than the premiere.

the power pass does not give the discounts.

if all you want is a room discount, the AAA card can give up to 35% off of room rates based on the date involved.

in fact, AAA allows the guest 10% discount off of food and merch in the parks and at most city walk places.


some years back, the Preferred Annual Pass gave 15% discounts (merch and food in parks0 but has since been cut back to 10% the last 2 years.

Thank-you. I sometimes get the AAA rate in order to qualify for the Lowes First pts-the upgrades are nice. We're going for a couple of days in November and then again in April, so a power AP is cheaper than buying tickets 2x. Thanks again for your help!

I always forget that just one person needs the preferred pass for the discounts. For some reason I bought us all preferred passes.

I've been watching for good renewal deals too but nothing seems to be around. I really think that once Harry Potter shows up for good, those great deals will be things of the past.


AP rates now get you your Loews perks too.

I forgot about Harry Potter- it must be old age. When is it due to open?
As for our tickets, I ordered the regular passes. The AAA rates are good and I want to keep our platinum status. In the end, even though the AAA rates are not always as good ( a couple of times, they were better) with the upgrades, it evens out.
