First of all dh is absolutely against character breakfasts since he doesn't feel the cost is worth the food. I, however, am trying to work our way through every TS restaurant on site, cost be damned!:rotfl:

I'd really like to hear your opinions on what Tusker House is like, if the food and character interaction are worth the cost, and whether or not I'll get a "see, I told you so!" from dh.

TIA:goodvibes

The food is very good. To my knowledge, this is the only character meal where you can find Daisy. The atmosphere is fun. There is a parade in which children and the characters play instruments and move around the room. The upbeat atmosphere is contagious. The whole experience made me happy! :goodvibes I would definitely recommend the Tusker House breakfast. (The juice is reason enough to try this breakfast!)

:) Yes, it is very festive. I wanted to get a pic of my 71 year old Daddy with Donald and we got a great one. The characters are a bit rushed and the dinning room small compared to others, I thought. The food was in another main dinning room and it was a very nice spread. The juice was great. My DH doesn't care for charachter meals either but everyone in our 4 adult only party had a good time and the charachters were not as interested in us as they were the kids --I mean they gave us each a hug and stood for a quick photo but moved on and spent a little more time with the children until the dance. They do take a group photo at the entrance which is nice but we didn't purchase. I would go again but since we went this past Dec it is not on our list to return in Oct.

Tusker house is one of our favorites. We did not have it on our list of restaurants for our august trip but when my 19 year old ask if we were doing the donald's breakfast safari, because that was her very favorite, then i had to do some rearranging. We all loved it. Me, dh, dd17(at the time) and dgd14. (no little kids in our party, and we still loved it!) the buffet was extremely well prepared and the characters were fun but not overbearing.

Tusker House, here we come! :goodvibes

Thanks for your input! You've all got me right psyched! :cool1:

Now, if AK opens at 9 (no EMH), would you recommend an 8:30 seating or a 10:30 seating? I was thinking that 10:30 would give us a better chance of riding Everest, but will they still be bringing out fresh food and will the characters be extra rushed at the last seating?

I would do the earlier one definetely! I'm thinking of adding this to our list as well. We did it back in 2007 when it was called Donald's Breakfastorus (or something like that), and it is one of the meals that really stood out for the kids - both for food and character interaction. Now if only I can convince DH to get up that early...

We have an 8:15 reservation for July. This was DS pick for our trip. :thumbsup2

It's a must for us every year...food selection is great! Go for it...you won't be disappointed! :thumbsup2

We're going May 5th @ 10:10. I'm quite excited to hear good reviews. I was wondering the same about that time. Will they still bring out fresh food and will the characters had enough by that time? Also will we feel rushed to get out to prepare for lunch?

I would say go & try it because it gets alot of positive feedback on the DIS. That being said, I guess we've just had bad luck with this brkfst because we've been 3-4 times, this past Sept @ Tusker House & before when it used to be Donald's brkfst over in Dinoland, and it has by far been the loudest brkfst & the worst character interaction of any character meal we've had & we've almost done them all. I will say the food has always been pretty good there.

Donald snubbed us the first time we ate there (December 2007), and our server (Mike from Fort Lee, NJ) took us over to Donald just so we could get a picture and his autograph.

We have another reservation of May 11 at 9:30.

It's one of our favorite breakfast locations.

We did the character breakfast last year and we enjoyed it. We are planning to do it again this year. We saw Mickey, Goofy, Donald & Daisy and had a great time and enjoyed the food.

One of our favorites!!! We don't do Disney without the DP. We have been to all charater lunch/dinners and the food at Tusker House is one of the best!
The Bomba Juice is the BOMB!!!!

:thumbsup2The food is great. Many different options for different taste. The charcters are AWESOME... they even dance with the kids! It is a must do for us every trip. Good luck and have a magical trip!!!!!!

You mention that you almost done all character breakfasts..............Which is your favorite and why?

We did the Donalds Breakfastasarus in 2000 and since then, this has been the 1st request that my family makes every visit to Disney. We did Tusker House Breakfast on our last trip in 2007 since it had moved and we loved it, we will be going again this trip but we are looking for another Character Breakfast, leaning towards Crystal Palace. Any thoughts?

Thank you for your help.

Crystal Palace is our favorite character brkfst - this is a must do for us on each trip - we enjoy the open atmosphere of CP, we have good character interaction, and enjoy the buffet especially the puffed french toast! Also we like to schedule an 8:05 adr on a non-emh day - it's nice to take a stroll down a nearly empty main street & makes for good castle pics + we're done with our meal & ready for MK by rope drop! Chef Mickey's & Ohana character brkfsts are also favorites of ours which we usually schedule as well :thumbsup2 Thanks for asking & hope that helps :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear so many good reviews of the Tusker House breakfast; we'd like to try it on our next trip. :thumbsup2
