We are now doing the single digit dance!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

DH and I are going on a vacation to the BW - just wondering if anyone has any comments or recent reports from staying there?? I haven't read too much about it on this thread. We are so excited- we have been many times to WDW but NEVER stayed on property. We really picked BW because of its location and look too! My Sister has stayed there and loves it!

I would love to hear if anyone has any feedback - good or bad!

ALSO - do all rooms have an iron?? I assume yes- most hotels do, but I just thought I would ask. I hate the way clothes get after being packed in a suitcase!!

Can't wait to get there!!

The BW is great. We stay there the majority of our trips to WDW. It's nice to have so much going on right at your door step. And yet a short walk and your on a quiet beach. I could go on and on about the walk to the parks and the food.
The one thing I will mention is that after my wife and I stayed on site nothing would do for us after that. Even our vacations to other places get compaired to WDW and they usually dont compair. Have a great trip. :earsboy:

The Boardwalk is my absolute favorite place to stay at WDW. I've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, Yacht Club, Caribbean Beach, and Swan, but the Boardwalk is like a magnet. When I'm staying elsewhere I wish I was back at the Boardwalk, so I've given in and choose to stay there every visit.

The location allows you to slip back to the Boardwalk from EPCOT and MGM as you wish (walking is mch quicker than riding the slowest boat in captivity) o relax. The rooms are very nice (and have the iron), and the Boardwalk itself is a nice place to sit, snack, run, walk, relax. Spoodles and Flying Fish are very good, the ESPN Club is what it is (some love it, not the favorite of others), but I've heard consistently bad things about Big River Brewing Co.

Enjoy your stay. My lovely wife and I will be back there in December for a long run before the January Marathon, then again in January for the race itself.

BWI -

Hi suncat73,

For this being your first time staying onsite, you certainly have picked a great place to stay. It is our favorite resort (three times) for many reasons. Location , choice of restaurants and snack places with four other resorts right there on the lake and all the ones in World Showcase, ability to walk or take the boat (relaxing on a hot day) to MGM or Epcot, activities at night on the boardwalk. Check out the BelleVue Lounge on the lobby level - they might be serving a continental breakfast there. Leaping Horse Libations at poolside has tasty snacks, and the pool itself is neat. You will have a magical time at the BWI!! Bob

My husband and I and our granddaughter stayed there for the first time in May and we cannot wait to go back! We absolutely loved the hotel, the location, and the fun of being on the Boardwalk!

Have a wonderful time! (yes, all of the rooms have irons)

Hi suncat! You have made a great decision! BWI is my family's favorite. We love the beautiful spacious rooms, the atmosphere, the Luna Park Pool with the Keister Coaster slide, and the Boardwalk itself with so many things to see and do. The location can't be beat -within walking distance to Epcot and MGM. (MGM is a bit longer -- in the heat better to take the boat) Then there are all the restaurants on the Boardwalk and in the other resorts around Crescent Lake, and of course in World Showcase.

Some say they don't like ESPN, but boy I can't drag my DH and DS out of there! I liked the food too. We didn't go into Big River Brewing, but as another poster said it does consistently get poor reviews.

We have been to BWI twice so far, and are looking foward to next month when we get to be at our favorite again. :wave2: You will have a great time!

BWV is definitely our favorite for all the reasons the other posters have articulated. However, just a word in defense of Big River Brewing Company, we love that place and always visit there for dinner even when staying at another property. This place has a casual atmosphere, some outside seating, and a reasonable cost. I'd go right now if I could. - Enjoy!

I stayed at the BWI back in Dec. and enjoyed my stay there (although it was a bit on the snotty side for me). I had a great room overlooking the quiet pool, and some of the buildings in Epcot. I could see Illuminations from my balcony. Very nice :)

The best thing about staying at the BW is it's an easy trip back to the room after a late night at Jellyrolls :) Gotta spend a few nights there whenever I visit the world :)

The dining at the BWI (and the surrounding hotels) is fantastic. Make sure you grab breakfast at the Boardwalk Bakery some morning--the pastries are incredible. I also had a great turkey sandwich from there one day.

And the location can't be beat--walking distance to two parks. It's nice to take a leisurely stroll to the parks!

Have a great stay.

Karen

We stayed at the BWVs last year. I was unaware there was a beach. Where is the beach associated with the Boardwalk? Is it the beach near the BCYC?

Yes the beach is over at the Y&BC. You can look back over the water to the BW. Usually we have the place to ourselves::yes::

I love the BoardWalk area, while I haven't stayed at the Inn I have stayed next door at the BWV's I loved the Resort and have just bought an add-on at BWV.

This is my absolutely favorite resort. It is beautiful and the service is amazing. The atmosphere is delightful and evokes old-time charm. You can't beat the location. I think it's the best resort on property.
