Any tall women out there?

I'm 6' tall and struggle finding pants that are long enough (38-39" inseam). I was wondering, are there any other tall women out there who can commiserate?

I'm not that tall (about 5 feet 10 inches) but have long legs and monkey arms. I find that Talbots (of American brands) fits me best in both sleeve and pant length

I'm also 6'0 tall, so I totally know how frustrating it is. Especially when every major department store has a petite department but don't carry any long lengths anywhere!

I have decent luck with pants at Gap and NY & Co (though their pants seem more suited to women with longer torsos.) Old Navy used to be okay, but their long length pants have gotten shorter lately.

I thought I was imagining the problem with Old Navy's pants! :rotfl:

I think JC Penney's tall pants are great. Also, if you're a size 14 or above, Avenue has great tall pants. They're very elegant.

I'm 5'7", which is on the tall side of average. My issue isn't leg length but ARM length! I have long arms and long sleeved shirts never fit right. And forget 3/4 length sleves, I look like I'm a 10 year old wearing a shirt I outgrew!

My sister is 5'11" and buys a lot of her clothes at Long Elegant Legs. The website is: http://www.tallwomensclothes.com/

I'm only 5'9", so the pants there are usually too long for me, but I have long arms and I have a jacket I got from there that I LOVE. The arms of the jacket actually fit!

Ha, I have monkey arms too! All of my "long" sleeve shirts look like 3/4 shirts. So sad!

Does anyone go to Tallgirl? The clothes are ridiculously expensive and they really aren't very fashionable either. But, desperate times call for desperate measures I suppose.

There's something about the name of that company that has always kind of bothered me. I'd be embarrassed to receive any packages with "Long Elegant Legs" on the front.

I can't buy 3/4 length sleeves either. Usually the bottom of the sleeve hovers just around my elbow instead of being 'bracelet length' as advertised. But the sleeve length at Talbots works best for me. They have a lot of casual as well as business casual and professional clothes, and great sales (and even better outlet stores with items $5-15)

Some of their sleeves are still a little short, but far better than most other items I have tried in the US

Maybe that's why their url is tallwomensclothes instead of longelegantlegs. :lmao:

DD15 is a huge America's Next Top Model fan so I think I've seen every cycle multiple times. Those girls are so tall and SO thin, and they all seem to have multiple pairs of jeans that fit perfectly. You'd think that in some episode, someone would complain about not being able to find pants that fit, but they never do. And quite a few of them do not come from wealthy backgrounds, so I doubt that they are spending a fortune. Wonder where all those girls are finding their pants?

:rotfl: I thought that too, as I went to the website at work. I'm like, hmm...people are going to think I'm looking at some suspicious, NSFW things.

I'm 5'11, and yes I've had the hardest time finding jeans/pants that I liked. But Im also only 26 and not ready for 'mom' jeans yet.

Long elegant Legs, has more 'mom' jeans than anything else (I'm not ready to wear pants above my belly button yet!). I go here for dressy slacks.

Check out the store Buckle or www.buckle.com they have lots of really nice jeans - although the prices are a bit high, but I figure I can't find them anywhere else.

New York and Co. wont be 39 in length, they are barely long enough for me
(36-37 in length). They're pants also hang very low in the crotch.

Maybe take a look at the Talbots website (no, I don't work for them, I just like them!) I just bought my latest pair of jeans from there and they are definitely not mom jeans - medium rise, dark wash boot cut. About $60 regular price but a lot of sale items available.

I have no idea of the inseam in inches but the length is perfect for me. Another pair I bought there a few years ago isn't quite right, so they may have actually made them longer now?

I am 6' as well and it stinks trying to find jeans. It doesn't help that I have gained a bit of weight from having kids.
I would love to find ones that weren't extra low cut so when you bend down everyone gets quite the view.:sad2:

I find Gap has the best pants for me. They are nice and long.

My problem is the tops. I can't find any anywhere to fit me. Once I wash them once, they are too short for me to wear.

I, too, am six feet tall. (I frequently wear high heels, too, so that ups my inseam as well.) I love clothes and fashion. I hate trends and love classic, effortless style. I don't have a horrible time finding pants anymore because I shop where I know I will be ok (for the most part, anyway). Also, it helps to not have an aversion to online shopping.

My number one choice for both work and casual is Banana Repubic; I LOVE this store. Talls are available online, but can occasionally be found in the store. They also have a decent amount of fabric in the hem and can be taken down for more length if needed. Great fit, great fabric, great style, great quality. Banana Republic fills 75% of my closet. Their dress shirts, sweaters, and knit tops are also slightly longer than most stores so you should have luck with those as well.

Jeans - Gap is all I own. They used to sell tall AND extra tall online, but I'm not sure if they still do that (I'm stocked for the time being and haven't had to shop for them recently). They will also sell extra tall in some casual pants (think khaki or seersucker) as well. Gap shirts and I do not mix, minus their ribbed tank tops, as they are just too short.

Honorable Mention - 1) Brooks Brothers for business shirts (their wrinkle free white shirt is worth every penny!) and pants with enough fabric in the hem to be let down. 2) Eddie Bauer for dress pants during the winter - they carry some great tweeds and twills.

I've learned it's worth the extra money to purchase clothing that is both fitting and quality. You will be miserable in anything less because you never feel 'quite right' in it and end up not wearing it enough to get your money's worth. Anything labeled 'tall' from places like Kohl's or most mid-level department stores are never long enough. Also, their shirts have the most unflattering boxy fit.

I'm sorry - too much rambling! Like I mentioned, I LOVE fashion/shopping so PM me if you have any questions.

Can you find the tall sizes in the JC Penney Stores or just online?

I love BR clothes, but I've never shopped there. Why? I can't afford it! I look at the clearence rack but by the time stuff makes it to the back of the store, all is left are the few things I don't like, or size 10 has been picked clean and all that's left are 2's and 14's.

How do you afford BR on a budget? Or do you just bite the bullet and spend the money?
