Any tall women out there?

I WISH I was tall, as my husband is 6'7", but sadly, I'm only 5 2!

My daughter is 6'3" and very slender, and she has had some luck at Buckle, Gap and BR. I have tried to get her to look at Lands End, but she shies away from there, probably because she thinks the clothes are for us moms (she just turned 20).

What I would like to know is, where do you find shoes to fit that don't have 2-3 inch heels????

I'm 5'7", which is on the tall side of average. My issue isn't leg length but ARM length! I have long arms and long sleeved shirts never fit right. And forget 3/4 length sleves, I look like I'm a 10 year old wearing a shirt I outgrew!

I am 5'8" and have the opposite problem, long legs short torso. Back in my thin days I wore a 34-36" inseam depending on the pant.

I'm 5'8" and need at least a 32" inseam for dress slacks - best luck I've had so far is Anne Taylor Loft. Jeans - the Buckle is the best. I like at least a 33 ' 34" inseam on my jeans. Funny how many name brands only carry dress slacks with 30" inseams - they look like high water pants on me.:scared1:

ok since you are all tall, I am going to assume that some of you have a large foot also. Where can you find cute shoes that fit but wont break the bank? Most stores around here stop at 10 or 11

I'm 5'10" and love target jeans they fit me perfectly but I only wear a size 8 shoe so I can't help with where to find bigger shoes!

6' here--and overweight (although I'm shrinking ;) ). I find dress slacks in talls at Lane Bryant--but my legs are not extraordinarily long to be as tall as I am. I usually don't need an extra tall length. Now SLEEVE length on the other hand--UGH!! Another problem is that for some reason, they assume that if you wear a larger shirt size (18/20) that you also have a large chest! I try things on and look like I need to stuff my bra--and I'm a C!!

I love BR clothes, but I've never shopped there. Why? I can't afford it! I look at the clearence rack but by the time stuff makes it to the back of the store, all is left are the few things I don't like, or size 10 has been picked clean and all that's left are 2's and 14's.

How do you afford BR on a budget? Or do you just bite the bullet and spend the money?

Clearance racks in the back are hit and miss, I agree. I was lucky when I lived in Naperville - I worked between two different locations and lived close to a third, so I could go during lunch.

Again, as long as you know your size, online shopping is your best bet. Very rarely have I not been able to get my size online even at clearance prices. Often times I'll see something I like in the store that's a size 00 petite and get it online in my size. Same goes with Gap pants.

As far as affordability, well, I RARELY pay full price for anything. Yes, they are pricier than ,say, Old Navy, but you get what you pay for as far as quality. I have dress shirts, suits, and sweaters that I bought five years (some more) ago that are still going strong and aren't out of style in the least. To me, that is worth it's weight in gold.

Also, I don't buy anything that I can't rotate in my current wardrobe on it's own. It took awhile to build up a decent wardrobe, but I can now mix and match almost anything from my closet. When I shop with my best friend, she often buys complete 'outfits' because she'll see a sweater that she doesn't have anything to go with, which results in buying a skirt/pair of pants to match, and sometimes shoes to go with. What started as a $19.99 clearance sweater ended up costing $100 when all is said and done. Me? I can find a $40 pair of pants and immediately know four different ways to dress them for four different looks.

It is even worse in Europe. I like GEOX brand, and usually wear those and some from Talbots (which goes up to size 12)

In Europe they don't stock GEOX in my size so I usually special order them or buy them online from Amazon. I went into a GEOX store in Manhattan a few weeks ago and asked for my size and the clerk couldn't supress a laugh...When I pointed out that I was currently wearing GEOX and own a dozen pairs, she did find me some in my size eventually

I don't shop at Old Navy but did try their shoes recently as they advertised larger sizes, and found that they fit very small.

OMG, I thought I was the only woman out here with "freakishly long arms" as my dh calls them. I hate buying clothes for that reason. I am starting to make my own. I am 5'8 1/2" so on the taller side for a woman. DH is only 5'6" so he just doesnt' get it.

J C Penney does have some of the tall sizes in the stores but they have a much better selection on line.

I'm 5'8.5" and I'm all leg with a short body. I have a 34 inch inseam my dh who is 6'2" has the same inseam. I found tall lucky's fit me the best , altho I'm a mom and well past 26 i'm not ready for the belly tucking mom jean either. I have the long arm problem as well, still haven't found a suitable answer for that one yet. I wear a size 10 shoe and I buy 99% of my shoes at Nordstroms mostly on sale.

However I am a shoe addict so I'm a sucker for a great shoe, my latest love is my new Cole Han NIKE air pumps SO comfy!

Coats seem to be a big issue for me too, I can't seem to get the arms to fit and it be long enough and not swallow my body. I wear mostly jackets instead.

I didn't read all th eposts - no time sorry - but I am 5' 11 1/2 and recently found out that if you order the victoria secrest velour sweats online they come in longs:love:
I was always able to find jeans, work clothes through the places mentioned above but always wanted some good fitting lazy day clothes!!

Try the tall section of Eddie Bauer's Website.

Good stuff there.

I think I'm going to move to a country with a climate that allows capris all year long!

I'm even taller than 6 feet :(

I have decent luck with pants at Gap and NY & Co (though their pants seem more suited to women with longer torsos.) Old Navy used to be okay, but their long length pants have gotten shorter lately.

Rats, I was just going to say Old Navy, but I haven't bought pants from them in over a year. I had more problems when I was skinnier. :lmao: I guess that's one positive about gaining weight, pant legs grow along with the waistband.

What I would like to know is, where do you find shoes to fit that don't have 2-3 inch heels????

I have a very hard time with this. I'm happy ballet flats have come back in for now. Since I'm in FL, I wear sandals a lot but even those come with huge heels. I don't think anyone needs to tredge through the sand at the beach in 3" espadrilles. :confused3 But I hate plan flip flops (I don't like stuff stuck in between my toes.)

Oh, I'm 5'11" and DH is just over 6', so he prefers I stay shorter in flats.

I am 5'10 with very long arms! and love to where high clogs, or a thick heel, which makes matters worse! Hey, thanks for that website...I just ordered 2 shirts!!! ;)

As for shoes, I wear a 10 (if they run big) or 11 (if they run small). Ideally I'm a 10 1/2 but that size doesn't exist in most places!

I love my ballet flats-- I don't really do heels. They always make me feel like a drag queen.

Luckily stores have gotten better about stocking larger sizes, but for some reason they sell out first, too! I end up getting a lot of my shoes from Newport News (newport-news.com). They have cute shoes at really reasonable prices, and they usually go up to size 11.
