Any Single Disney Men Out There?

I like BW, but since I seem to book so late I have been getting SSR a lot, which is ok but like the BW better. I like the BW pool, and everything is a close walk. Well, almost everything.

Heard a rumor that there will be a new DVC resort that will be added to the Contemp, and am looking at that with some antici....(say it!)pation.

Why do you think that the POFQ location stinks?

POFQ is great but the location stinks.

YC/BC are the top dogs for me.

WL might be more romantic around Christmas time, though.

As a DVC member I do enjoy my time spent at the OKW. But as far as the non-DVC resorts, I think there are some very nice hotels.

My favorite is POR, or as I like to still call it Dixie Landings. My favorite for romance, sorry all you Polly fans, is GF.

I am looking forward to spending time next week at SSR. This will be my first stay at that resort.

We have asked each other about favorite romantic spots, favorite restaurants, and favorite resorts.

So now my question is where is your favorite spot to have a drink at the end of the day?

And a follow-up question, if you were to meet someone for the first time, romantically :lovestruc , for a drink, where would you meet?

I like Mizner's at the Grand Floridian. I would be a great place to meet some one for the first time.

For a drink at the end of day....I like the lounge at the hotel that I am staying in...either the one at POR or POFQ. :)

I feel sorry for you. Those stuffed people probably stand around all day in their poses while you have to go around putting up books, telling people to shush, and explaining the dewey decimal system to the 33 year old guy looking for the latest Harry Potter book (that would probably be me). :rolleyes1

Do they still have the Dewey decimal system? :rotfl:

Seeing as I work in a library that is still half in the dark ages, yes we do still use Dewey. :) :) :)

November 28? Wow... what a great day for a birthday! I think that might just be the best date ever to have a birthday! :cheer2:

Oh... did I forget to mention that it's my birthday, too? :lmao:

I thought POFQ was dixie landings? Riverside was always riverside?

I LOVE POFQ and would likely chose it over ANY resort. Down to earth guests, SMALL resort, quaint, ROMANTIC as HECK..

is a certain someone I think is a cutie taking notes? (haha just joking)

Again, POFQ.. the lounge (name escapes me) there was an older african american ATTRACTIVE singer/sax player (I have his name somewhere) who is not only entertaining, but interacts with the crowd enough to make it SUCH a romantic experience. there was a newlywed couple and he kept telling my (ex) fiance to get with it... how to do it.. etc. He was GREAT and we laughed.. great drinks, comfy beatiful setting. I wish I was back there with someone SPECIAL this time *sigh*

Hey, mine's November 27th and is the coolest ever! :teeth:

The hotel bars are great, but going back to the room (DVC's) and taking a bottle of wine out then either sitting on your verandah or going to the pool is always relaxing.

For a first date drink...it used to be Captian Cooks Hideaway or the Tambou lounge. The lounge at the Japanese Pavilion during the fireworks at EPCOT is spectacular.

I do like the lounges at both POR and POFQ as well!

Riverside was originally known as Dixie Landings. POFQ was just plain old Port Orleans.

Now I wonder who the cutie is? :confused3

Honestly, folks...to my way of thinking, *any* place I was meeting a prospective sweetheart at WDW would be romantic! :wizard:

That said, however...meeting someone for the first time ..... (We've already had the discussion here about the potential pitfalls of internet relationships....) I'd want somewhere quiet but well-lit so that I could see and hear them clearly, and feel like I had a chance to get to know the "real" person...especially if it was someone I'd been getting to know online.

And no, DDave (and others) I'm afraid I can't give you any specific recommendations on that one, not having any "romantic" personal experience at WDW (yet). Certainly happy to hear any tips, though! :listen:

I agree...almost any place can be made romantic with the right person. :)

Except maybe the Lego store in DTD...LOL

I think a good place to meet someone for the first time (especially if you are doing the online thing) would be at World Showcase. To me its one of the more romatic looking places in the World...and with all the little court yards like in the UK Pavillion you could sit and chat with a perspective sweetie. :)
