Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

Does UPS deliver on Saturdays?? From the last batch, we should expect the bands tomorrow but I'm not sure UPS has Saturday delivery so we'll see!

I'm in the same boat, ordered ours yesterday. They do have a Saturday delivery but the cost is quite a bit extra and a box has to be checked on the package for "Saturday delivery". It would be awesome if they would, but I am thinking it will be Monday at the earliest.

I have a bit of a dilemma and need some help, Disboards!

I have a split stay trip coming up at the end of Sept. Our first 3 nights will be at POFQ, and our last night will be at AoA. We were able to order Magicbands on MDE because of the AoA stay - however, POFQ has not been included in the test and I am worried we will only be able to utilize the bands starting on our last night? Do you think I could contact Disney and get them to become active when we arrive to POFQ? I am kind of afriad to call the reservation line and confuse some poor CM on the other line with my weird problem.


Anyone else have split stay issues with this test?

It all depends on your arrival date. For example, I check-in to POP on September 24th, and my MDE says "Customize by August 24th." (that's exactly 1 month before my arrival) I can go in and re-customize if I want to.

If you're less than a month out, I don't think it will have a date on there for you. They will send the bands as soon as you customize.

If you don't actually go ahead and confirm your shipping address, the bands will be at your resort (at least that's what MDE website told me before I confirmed my shipping address).

I'm 23 days out. Confirmed my address, colors and all that good stuff. Still prompts me to personalize them. Grr. I hope the CM was right at it changes over and finalizes on its own by tomorrow.

It's kind of complicated but the quick and dirty version is.

Magic Bands will replace the regular room keys. They will be used for park admission, room entry, paying for things etc. It's an opt-in service though, for now it's in testing and they're saying it's opt-in in the future. (but who knows for how long that'll last) They're only available to guests staying on property. You can schedule 3 fast pass +'s attractions per day at one park. As of right now you can still pull regular fast passes (aka double dipping) but in the future you won't be able to.

I've heard other people are in similar situations. My understanding is that people who customized on Tuesday received their bands Thursday but they also got the shipping notice on Thursday! Taking the weekend out of the equation, that means Tuesday for shipping.

I just talked to a CM and they told me that unless you were sent an email saying you are included in test, which you wouldn't get until within 17 days of your check in, you won't be able to use any FP+ once you get to the park. They don't have a way to only include the test group so it is available for everyone to book FP+ but they won't be valid when you reach the park.

I honestly wouldn't trust what anyone is saying right now

If you have MagicBands and FP+ revervations you have a *chance* that they will work. If they don't you will still have MagicBands and the KTTW cards will do all the work.

For what its worth - there were people in the Aug test that never received the email, the functionality just popped up on MDE one day.

My understanding is that the reservation at a test resort gives you access to the MagicBand and FP+ features and that there have been testers that switched resorts halfway through their vacations and were able to continue using the MagicBands and FP+. In addition, there are testers that linked APs and they can still access and use FP+.

Everything (including what I say) is to be taken with a grain of salt. It isn't a flawless system yet, that is why they are testing it!

People are slowly getting the emails too. The computer system seems to move faster than the invites. And trust me they aren't just handing them out to everyone. My resort isn't getting them. There are people checking in one day too early at POR who aren't getting them. They are perfectly capable of setting the system up to just invite those who are going to be able to use them. There's a lot of conflicting data out there. But I think I'm safe in saying that if you order and receive bands they will definitely be usable.

I just customized our bands! So excited, EXCEPT! My DS, who is nearly three does NOT get one because he's still considered an infant. Sigh.
It's not the end of the world, but he's going to want to be like his big sisters. I have to try and find something magic band-like for him to have. Anyone had a suggestion of something that would fit on a skinny two-year-old's arm?

That's weird. Because our grandson who is 2 years old got a magic band. I could ordered it with the rest of our party's MB. He is on the reservations with the rest of our party. He has a green MB. They even have instruction on how to make the MB small enough for his wrist.

I'm not. Actually there are quite a few attractions in DHS that drop off on 9/24. Same with MK.

I don't think anyone can confirm as it's not Sept. yet, however I will say the CM's don't seem to have a clue about the system, the testing etc. or they've been instructed to lie, either way I wouldn't trust anything that they say at this point. For example a pp stated that when he/she called the CM stated that anyone booking a RO reservation wouldn't be able to customize or get magic bands...well I made a RO reservation on Tuesday, was able to customize it the same day and physically had them in my possession yesterday and got the "official" email invite today, which I completely believe was prompted by me already doing the magic band and fastpass+ stuff. There have been multiple conflicting reports on who will be able to get and use them.

My theory is that anyone that is physically able to get the bands will be able to use them and have access to the fastpass+ system no matter their resort etc. (As in they could book a RO at a "testing" resort, get the magic bands and I think they'll still work even if you move resorts after one night at a testing resort.) Obviously, I don't know for sure, but it's the only thing that seems to make sense to me. I'll be there the first week of Sept. and will report back as soon as I can for anyone leaving later in the month.

I'd been going along with the assumption that we were not going to be included in whatever is going on- arriving Sept 12 for six nights at AKL. But today I logged into MDE, just as I have every day for weeks (OK, that thing about having a life up there, that was clearly a lie), and- I can make FP+ selections. What the what? No mention of MB customization anywhere, just FP+. Will we get MagicBands? Can we use FP+ with KTTW cards? Are the FP+ selections I might make now just fantasy make believe? If it's fantasy make believe, but I clap real hard, will they become a real boy? We're not even bringing any boys, so that might be nice.

I've only ever been to Disneyland (not counting 4 days at WDW in 1986- Magic Kingdom (pretend Disneyland) and Epcot Center (loved it, bought the album) and that was it!), and there only for day trips with a local-resident annual pass. I'm totally feeling nostalgic for those simple times... this WDW stuff is kind of nuts!

All the answers are in here, the problem is going thru 107 pages to find them.

I have re-answered so many questions it isn't funny, so have other people. Even back when the thread was 50 pages long.

It's useless at this point. The exact same things keep getting asked and answered every 4-5 pages.

I'm giving up on this thread now, it's exhausting, this thread should be under 40 pages long, but it's well over 100 pages because hardly anyone takes time to read at least the past 5 pages before posting the same questions that have been answered dozens of times previously.

Seems like ppl. have been able to make fastpass+ selections before they're able to customize their magic bands, but you should be able to customize those in a few days and then you should be set.

I wasn't expecting anyone to (re)answer my questions (I sort of thought that my questions themselves made that clear, unless you actually have an answer to whether my FP+ selections will become a real boy?) ... just kind of venting that now I have to figure it all out when I'd been sort of quietly ignoring the whole thing, being already overwhelmed with WDW planning that I'm unused to doing. I don't even like making restaurant reservations for the next day! How can I know where I'll want to eat by then? Heck, even grocery shopping is a bit of a crapshoot for me. I may have a problem.

Anyway, off to go reading.

You really don't need to do any of the advanced planning. You should (in theory) have access to regular old FP during your stay, so any FP+ you assign are a bonus.

If you're not seeing the "personalize Magicbands" link, doing online check-in (or re-doing it) has made the link appear for some.
