Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

It's called testing...what if it was a big huge failure..I net people would be thrilled not to be subjected to that...grass is always greener, etc.

I'm sorry you did not get FP+ - most people are not. :(

Testing some resorts is not my issue, but I guess you don't see that.

Everyone has their own opinions. We just don't agree on this topic.

Booking a "ghost" trip to participate in the test or for booking ADRs has never seemed very ethical to me. It kind of falls into the same category of hiring a handicapped person to get you past the lines. I hope it's worth it.

I totally disagree, as long as, you KEEP the ghost reservation. If someone wants to pay for a room to get MB all power to them.

Of course I am bias on this as I did the RO ghost reservation, so my opinion is very one side naturally.

So, for people involved in testing, do they give you the KTTW card in addition to your MB automatically or do you have to ask for it?

If so, how does that whole process work? Keeping both the MB and KTTW active?

Yes, you get cards in addition to the bands. It's automatic. You don't have to do anything, both the magicbands and KTTW cards are active simultaneously.

I think this is pretty harsh and easy for you to say. You are staying in a resort that has been chosen for testing.

I didn't sign on for a debate of ethics or morals. I'm unsubscribing because this thread is turning increasingly more judgemental and downright spiteful.

Well, I have a weird problem.. I was able to customize magic bands and they are 'shipping soon.' But I can't make FP+ reservations! It keeps telling me 'valid park admission required.' We are going to be buying military salute tickets when we arrive, so I went in and linked a set of tickets from last year that have days left on them in an attempt to have "valid park admission." Still no dice. Anyone have any advice? We are at Contemprary 9/12-17, BTW. I've never gotten a popup or email, either. I was just able to get the magic bands one day out of the blue when I logged in.

We had our trip booked since March 2013, going Sept. 23-27, POR. After reading all the info about Magic Band testing the wife and I started checking MDE and noted that we had FP+ options; made all of our FP+ reservations and still no MB's showing up. I then told my wife about linking a credit card to MDE and sure enough after she completed that step, 4 MB's showed up (I'm not really sure why that matters since Disney already had our credit card info?!)! We were so excited we tried to wake the kids to find out what color they wanted but at 1am they weren't budging! Got our MB's customized this morning but I don't think they'll ship until at least after Aug. 22, since we have until then to customize them.

We also did the short survey when prompted (before we got MB access), figured it couldn't hurt! One of the questions was whether or not we knew if we were part of MB testing, to which we replied, "Not sure".

I went to that website and it says only certain people were selected to test the lunch fastpass.

Well only certain ppl were. It's not available otherwise. You have to have an all numerical confirmation code to book. Those are RO reservations but ppl have used their ME confirmations with success.

And that's the website that is on my email invitation for BOG.

Can someone explain the concept of "ghosting" to me?

You have reservations for a non-MB test resort so you make reservations (these are the ghost ones) for a MB test resort, knowing the whole time you are going to cancel the ghost reservations as soon as you make sure you are getting your MB's.

Personally I think Disney should not be held accountable if guests do this, sure let them keep their MB's but don't give them MB privileges and since they would be linked to a canceled reservation I wouldn't expect them to still work anyways!

Ghosting is where someone creates a reservation at a hotel with no intentions of using it, and only doing it to get some sort of benefit they otherwise couldn't. Either they plan on canceling all together before arriving, or they plan on just eating the cost and still not show up.

In this case, it is being done so that those not in resorts selected for testing can be part of the test.

We check in on September 20 and are staying 9 nights at POR and we didn't get picked to try out the system...bummer! Was hoping we would, but no such luck so far!
