Any ROFR news?

I just found out this evening that we passed ROFR. What a huge relief.

We purchased 250 points with a UY of Sept. 194 points for 2004 and we paid MF and closing costs. Price was $71 per point.

Our family loves the parks and we've stayed at Dixie Landings/Port Orleans the last 2 trips. We cannot wait to visit our new home !!!

SWVA BGSU Fan, congratulations on passing ROFR! What resort did you buy in to?

Micki, congratulations and welcome home to you as well!

Pixie dust to all of you who are waiting on pins & needles! Hopefully, this will be the week that LOTS of people get the good news that they've passed ROFR...

OKW is our new home. All of the contracts getting rejected had us on edge.

We were very pleased with Dixie Landings/Port Orleans so I'm sure that we will love OKW. We have never toured any of the DVC properties. We've stayed onsite 3 times and offsite twice.

Good luck to everyone waiting on ROFR. I hope that your contract gets through.

Congratulations to the two newest members

Micki and SWVA I am really happy for you, ok and a bit green with jealousy, But really congratulations, dont' drop off ROFR just because you passed. what am I saying addonitis will kick in and you will be back next week LOL

Don

PS: OK this is not really an ROFR ? but would any of the current members who are waiting with us do me a huge favor. I'm new and not sure how the member site works (not even a member yet) but if my contract passes Im gonna have to use some points fast so we are hoping to go down to the world the week of 1/3/05 to 1/8/5. Is it possible to see if any studios are available anywhere or is that a major project. If its a huge hassle or not allowed or something let me know and I apologize for asking. It just we aregoing to have to plan to get out of my wifes work/class schedule and all. But if it is easy and anyone has the time it would be appreciated!

For small add-ons it makes more sense to go through Disney. $400 closing adds $8 per point to the cost of a resale.

Hi Ken,

When looking at this objectively I see your point but there are some thins that can change this. I am (not so) patiently waiting to hear on my VWL 50pt contract from ROFR. I already have a reservation at the Poly in January for 5 nights. The contract I am buying with a Feb UY has all of the 2004 points left. If I can take these 50 points and get an OKW studio or I will use only 40 of the points and I will save the cost of the Polly reservation. Assuming I get an AP discount this will save me at least $1200.
To me that reduces the cost by $24 a point. I know this is a bit of a "perfect world" scenario but what looks like a so-so deal on the surface may be a gem ;)

Thank you for all your kind words and Pixie Dust to all that are still waiting. Now we have more questions. Our closing is on or before 10/8 and they say we should be in the system about a week later. We will have 69 pts banked from 03 that must be used by 4/1 I believe. Is there any possibility we can use them before the 1st of the year. We will only need a studio and only need a few days. Just want to go and celebrate our 30th anniversary. The points are enough but what are the chances of getting into OKW with such little time. I am just dying to see it since I've only seen it in pictures and not been to WDW for a year. We are actually hoping to be able to reserve in early May for a family vacation to celebrate my son's 21st BD. Sorry I rambling but I'm excited. This group made the waiting tolerable. You're a great bunch of people. This has been more like a support group.

I just posted a separate thread on this board, but I also wanted to report back here that we just got a call from Pat Spell that we passed ROFR! We're in and couldn't be happier!

BCV
150 points
Oct UY
$78 per point
We paid closing and '04 MF's
150 banked '03 points came with the deal (no MF's)

Might be of interest to someone to know that Pat said that they haven't had any contract at $73 or more per point rejected.

 Thanks everyone for making the waiting easier!

I just got off the phone with Leslie at The Timeshare Store.

WE PASSED!!!!

She said to hold tight to wait to hear from the title company. Does anyone who has passed recently know exactly what the process is and the approximate timeline. I am so excited I can hardly breathe!!!!

Congratulations everyone!!:Pinkbounc

Thanks for keeping the list updated kimpossible!

Mike--I predict you'll figure out how to post that spreadsheet about the time 2042 rolls around! But, I hope I'm wrong.

dmciii,

Hey, we will be at Disney the same week you will. We fly down on the 2nd and back on the 8th. We are hoping, like you, to find rooms.

I don't think there will be a problem getting rooms for that week. When I close and get in the system, I am going to call for my room, so I will keep you posted. It should be in a couple weeks.

Kathleen,

I pm'd Don (because I didn't want to place an ENTIRELY personal message in a post....I know some people wouldn't believe this with the way I ramble on these boards...but, I do TRY to follow the guidelines of the boards...I'm just not very good at it!!!:p )

I called MS. Right now there is studio availability at VWL, OKW and SSR. BCV and BWV are full!!

Good luck...I'm sure there will be something left when you get in the system!!!

Beca

Thanks Beca,

I called and our closing is set for 9/22. Does anyone know if it ever comes earlier?

Will it take a full week or sooner to get in the system?

Kathleen

First off, congratulations on passing ROFR.
If all goes well, you're probabaly looking at another 15-20 days. The title search, receiving estoppel from Disney and whatever else the title company has to do takes about 7-10 days.
Once the title search is complete, you and the seller will get the same paperwork. You sign it and send it back with the big check. The sellers sign it and get it notorized. The closing takes place as soon as the title company receives both set back. Good luck
