Any ROFR news?

First off, I don't think ROFR is faster whether they take it or not. We heard in less than 2 weeks that they were going to take our first contract and keep it for themselves. So don't be discouraged that you haven't heard.

Second, What would we do if this, our second try at resale, doesn't go through?

I don't know, I think we would probably rent points for our next trip and maybe try a resale again in the spring. I will go crazy until then, but maybe the whole ROFR thing will have settled down a bit.

Our proposal was sent to Disney exactly two weeks ago and we found out today that we got it!!:D It was 150 point BWV with a UY of September. Hopefully you will hear soon!!

After having gotten "ROFR'ed" on my 700 pt BCV contract, I am now waiting to hear the out come on 3 BWV contracts. I expect to learn my 'fate' next week.

We just started the ROFR wait yesterday. I didn't think it would bother me, but yikes. It's going to be a long couple of weeks. Good luck everyone. Shall we post our fate here?::MinnieMo

Hi Fellow DVCers, I been lurking around this board for 2 years now, and after a May 2004 trip to WDW, I purchased 400 Points at OKW from Jason at The Timeshare Store.

(Bear with me this is only my second post, and I'm not certain of all the abreviations, and ettiquette (sp) - I do not mean to insult anyone, so please don't flame me <grin>)

Anyway, Jason was great, he worked hard with me, as I was somewhat slow to do my side of the paperwork:

My purchase was complicated by the fact that I purchased it as a corporate getaway for tax advantages....
infact my original trip down to WDW became tax deductible as an investment expense,

Anyway I have a 400 Point December UY at OKW with 240 Banked Points, and all 2004 points. I got it for $67 a point. Jason felt I could have gotten it for $65 a point, but I didn't want to risk it for $400.00!

Turns out around 08/04/2004, DVC raised their resale prices from 84 to 89 a point, hence the change the previous posters noted with losses at $70.00 a point.

Anyway, It seems (for once, LOL) that I got a break!

Thanks to all of you for sharing and educating me.

Snafer1,

Man you got a deal and a half! But it shows that prices will continue to go up. I paid 72 per point. I most likely could have got it for 70 or 71, but since I wasn't paying MF's I decided not to push it. I believe this upward trend will only get worse.

Anyway, congrats on a great deal and keep your fingers crossed for the rest on us.:earsboy:

Was that the one Jaki had listed? What did they buy back at?

yes, and they were willing to by back @ $69!
So now I'm on hold pending review of 3 other contracts by DVD {and keeping my fingers, eyes and toes crossed!}

Well here's some pixie dust. :wizard:

We were about to make an offer on that one a few months back. It would have been $68 paying all fees. Would have gotten it too but some moron who couldn't pay had called Jaki 5 minutes before and said he wanted it. Of course the guy's financing deal eventually fell through.

The funny thing is, three weeks later I make a low-ball offer on a BCV 510 pointer through TTS and 5 minutes after that Jaki calls back to let me know the 700 was on the market again! The 510 seller was asking $77 and I offered $69 so I figured they'd make a counter offer, I'd say "no thanks" and buy the 700 from Jaki at $68. Well of course TTS calls me right back and says my offer was accepted.

Everything worked out because we got the 510 through RoFR two days before the increase, wphew!

Anyway, sorry you missed a great contract but good luck on your current ones.

Wow - BCV at $69.....

I am in RoFR at the moment on $77 - based on what I read on this board and how quickly they sell I did not even think of low-balling.

Perhaps we should set up a 'sticky' thread for people to report at what prices they passed/failed RoFR to act as market intelligence for us all - no long threads, just the data.

I just read my original post, and it sounds like I'm a 'profit motivated point renter'

I'm not.

To reward good employees at my office, everyone who reaches five years gets a 'free Disney vacation' (use of my OKW + airfare on me), plus that leaves me and my family a vacation every year or other year, depending when my employee chooses to go.

Just wanted to clear that up, yes I maxed my return from my investment by running it through my corp, but I'm not a seller/renter, I'm a user.

hmmm.... that doesn't sound to good either....

I just trying to be nice to my employees, my family and save a buck!

Thanks again,

Tony

Tony,
(snarfer1)

I've been in your office for 4 years and 11 months now

(you just haven't noticed me because I'm always making copies by the water cooler)

so feel free to book me in for next month,a 2 bedroom, next to a bus stop, ok?
:teeth:

-just joking
(except for the part that you can book me)
That's a really swell idea!

Those days are gone. In the current RoFR climate it's better not to low-ball if you really want the contract.
