Any ROFR news?

Pakdayton,

Jaki's the type of person who will let you know immediately whether it's good or bad. When I was touching base with her before, she said that some contracts may take a little longer depending on contract size, UY, etc. and what Disney needs at the time.

Hopefully you'll have some good news any day now!

boscoj .... thanks

its after 6pm on the east coast now so i'm just trying to resign myself to no news for the whole weekend

maybe monday ....

Not necessarily. The people at the Timeshare work Saturday and Sunday as well. Just keep thinking positively!

carlos ... thanks for the link

i HAD seen it ... 70 and 72 for VWL
makes my 70 at OKW seem possible, right?

momma ... the timeshare people may be working
but its the disney ROFR dudes that i'm worried about ... i'm picturing suits around a big table ... seems more like mon-fri job

everyone ... thanks for sharing my angst

happy weekend to all

One of the resellers told us that Disney meets once a week (it was Tuesday at that time) to review ROFR contracts!

We got our ROFR in 8 days and just finished closing in about 3 -4 weeks. I can't figure anything except for low cost points. Good luck to you and hope all goes well!

Well my DW and I are just begining to shop for our first small contract 150-170p. I'm not a fortune teller but I can see me sitting here sweating out this process and it sound to me like I should maybe rethink SSR.

Just some quick questions for those out ther in the know.

1) who is Jaki?
2) who should I be shopping through
3) and what are the incentives everyone is talking about on SSR

Forgive my im still a dvc neophyte just a long time WDW lover
Don

Jaki is a sales employee at The Time Share store. In other words,
the agent that sells the resales. Jason was ours and I can recommend him as well.

There are several places to look for DVC resales. One person just recently bought a DVC resale off of E-Bay! I got mine by watching the listings of the Time Share Store until something I wanted came up for sell. There is a link at the top of this page called DVC Resales. This is what is available at the moment. However, you can call and ask if you don't see something you like. Where ever you purchase, be sure to get all the facts:

the resort that you want to be your home resort. It's best to buy where you really want to stay. That way you have an 11 month reservation period versus a 7 month at the resorts that aren't your home resort
use year (UY here on the boards) this is the month that you get your allotment of points each year
points borrowed/banked and if they're banked when must they be used
price per point (many of us have had success counter-offering the seller for a lower price per point)
who pays the maintenance fees (MF's here on the boards) and who pays the closing costs.

Don't really know the incentives at SSR but check the threads. I'm sure you'll find that info.

Hope this helps a little. Did I forget anything anyone?

Actually, Jaki has her own business at Atimeshare.com. I think her company and the Timeshare Store are the two main players in DVC resales.

Just got my call that we made it through ROFR! Should be ready to close in about 10 days! It's at the BWV, 150pts. Time wise, it's been about 2 weeks so far.:earsgirl:

Matt,

Please post the details. We need them. Some of us have only been waiting 8 day and some of us much longer. We're trying to make sense of this ROFR madness.

DH & I are the ones who won the VWL contract through E-Bay! Although it is a great contract, we're not certain we'd go that route again! For those of you who are impatient with the ROFR process (as we always are), just imagine first having to wait out the auction (which was 30 days) and not even knowing if we'd end up being the winners and THEN first go to ROFR!! Not for the faint of heart!!

Originally posted by carlos1117 One more question; did they really call you today, Saturday?
Mike, I can vouch that Jaki (actually it was her son) called us on a Saturday when we passed ROFR on a BWV contract earlier this year. There have been other posts from people who have received the good word on the weekend -- so, yes, it can and does happen!! Hope you hear VERY soon!!

We heard over the weekend on our last one...I actually think it was a Sunday! No kidding!

So...anything is possible. We're up to day 12 as I write this. :D

OK, here's the details. It's 150 BWV pts. We're paying $75.00, closing costs and Maintance fees as it's a June UY, all 150 pts for this year plus 75 banked pts. Was told that the closing company works 7 days a week! As soon as they do the title search we'll be ready to close. Can't wait!!! This is our 3rd resale. One through Jaki and 2 through Jerry at the TTS. Would highly recommend either one.

Matt-

Thanks for the scoop. Wow, that sounds a lot like ours, too. Hopefully we'll have the same results. We raised our offering price from $73 to $75 at the last minute. We were just too nervous.

What luck for the seller. Imagine the buyer bidding against herself!

Congrats again.

Kim

Just wanted to give you an update, I found Jaki and also have contacted the timeshare store, I hope they are seperate as noted above. We are keeping our eyes open and will see. Im still not sold on SSR for a home but we will see what happens. Thanks for the quick replies im sure im gonna have a million dvc questions Thanks again

Speakiing of other questions my family will rent studios regularly how hard is it to get studios in the 7 month window at non-home resorts
