Any rides too small for large adults?

Are there any rides at Disneyland that will a 6 ft. 0 in. 275 lb man cannot ride? I went a couple years ago at 300 lbs and felt a little cramped on Space Mountain and California Screamin'. This year I will be a little lighter, but I would like to tag along with my small children on the kiddie rides. Thoughts?

My husband has problems on Space and Screamin' but it's because of his height - he's 6'5", 250. Commonly "Pooh-sized" people can ride most if not all of the rides without problem. At 6'0", I wouldn't anticipate too many problems. Astro-Orbiters are a ride that tend to be uncomfortable (we've never even bothered trying it), but as I said, most problems result from people that are very, very tall.

i'm 6' and 260, I fit on every ride. Only thing small were the bumper cars in Bugs Land

Thank you both for your quick responses. I just found this site and I am loving it! I will venture into Toontown and a Bug's Land this year.

I recommend on the fast & bumpy rides, especially coasters, that you ask the cast member at the loading platform to give you the seat with the most legroom. I learned that the hard way last time I rode Rock'n Rollercoaster.

My husband is 6' 3" and was 375lbs when we went last year (this time he is also lighter! By like 80lbs! Go hubs!!). He was able to ride everything last time though, with only space mountain being a bit of a tight squeeze, but really mainly because of leg room. I am sure he will have no problems this time, and for sure you won't either! ;)

The only thing you may want to skip is Astro Orbiters. As you already know, Space Mt. may be a bit tight but you will fit, don't skip it. I have read several places where the new Matterhorn bobsleds will be tight for Pooh-Sized folks, we won't know for sure til' this summer though.

I've sometimes wondered if some people might have trouble with the turnstiles, like at BTMRR. I've not seen it happen, but I'm average sized and sometimes feel a little squeezed going through.

From what I remember, there isn't that much leg room on Winnie the Pooh, but that one isn't a must-do, imo.

I always have a tough time with the leg room on Goofy's Sky School. I'm not Pooh-sized, but generally have a backpack that I have to fit in the floor with my feet. Something about the divided seat has made me have trouble multiple times. I could see how this could be difficult for tall or larger people.

I think there's more leg room in the front of the car than the back... IIRC, this is true for many of the other two-row 'dark ride' cars as well.

I have a picture of my hubby squeezing into Astro Blasters WITH the kids in the same ship. OMG!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That ride is our problem ride. Long line, onery (bored) kids in line, and the ship thing is so awkward and small!
:rotfl2: Im just not sure that one is worth all you go through ;-)

Last trip to Disney I was very "pooh sized". I remember that there were a few turnstiles that I had problems with and the swings at DCA were very tight. But for the most part we did not have any problems.
However one night we went out with out any kids and ended up on Space Mountain with a train full of adults and they stopped us right after the start, and rearranged the train saying that it was too heavy.. They put my DH, my Bro in law, me and my similarly "pooh sized" sister on a train all by our selves. It was a little embarrassing.
I am glad that I will be a little lighter this trip and everything will hopefully fit a little better.

Definitely.

Sit in the front; more leg room.

If the seats are the same as they were for Mulholland Madness, that's the one ride [that still exists] that my husband simply could not get on. Along with a belly and a very broad and thick back, he's got the legs of sumo wrestler, and he couldn't get his legs into a position where he could get the bar under his belly. It was an awful, awful moment, and the guests watching it were ghastly about it.

I had to switch cars really quick, because my son had been sitting with DH, and it just delayed the ride so much which made people even worse.

(this was the trip in '09 right before he got the diagnosis of a pituitary tumor, which was the root cause of the excessive weight gain he'd been dealing with for a few years, and I just wanted to destroy all the guests that made him so upset (and the tumor was creating a hormone that made him extra upset at things like that))

Sorry for the rant. Sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday.

I've heard that the seats are the same (the whole ride was just rethemed, I believe). What an awful story! I'm so sorry that people gave you DH a difficult time about it. I can imagine it would be embarassing not to fit on a ride, even if everyone in line was silent about it. I couldn't imagine if they were rude enough to say something.

The only issue my husband (and I, I guess) ever had was on Matterhorn a couple years ago. The CM who splits you into which sled you get into asked if we wanted to ride together or separate, we told her separate, as my husband is 6'4" and we knew there wouldn't be room for me considering the amount of leg room he would need. She insisted that we'd be fine together and told us to go together. Yeah, we were that couple who held up the ride trying to squeeze into the sled together when we knew that we wouldn't fit. He just has too much leg! We ended up getting off and waiting for the next sled so we could ride separate like we'd originally asked. :confused3

Thank you for the tip on GSS. That one is outdoors, so I will watch it from the ground for a little while and look for guys my size. Their faces should tell the story.

I hadn't thought about this refurb. I will hope for the best and be sure to ride solo.

That is sad. Most of the cast members do such a great job, but some people like to think they know you better than you know yourself.

I am a big dude (5'11" 255) and my issues are all with my legs. The worst of it is usually no more than a bit of a squeeze here or there but it hasn't slowed me down that I can remember.
