Any rides at US/IOA that you have to take off eye glasses?

We are making our first trip to US/IOA the last week of June with our WDW trip. We will have 1 day at each park. My question is are there any rides that you have to remove your eye glasses (not sunglasses)? Both my DS and DH were glasses and can't see without them.

Thanks

No, nowhere do they require you to remove them. And as long as they aren't loose-fitting, they'll be fine on the rides. You may gain some peace of mind if you leave them behind though. I'm pretty sure I've worn mine at least once on everything there.

You'll probably be ok, just make sure they aren't too loose if you go on the hulk, cant tell you how many sets of sun glasses ive seen sitting in the net below the track :cool2:

Since eye glasses are SO important to always have, I always take it safe on some rides. These rides offer few lockers to store your items, so if I am not wearing my contacts, I put my eye glasses into the lockers.

The rides are Hulk, Dragon Challenge, and Rip Ride Rockit. On Ripsaw Falls and Jurrasic Park River Adventure, I wear them until near the end of the ride before the big drops when I take them off and hold them in my hand tightly so nothing happens to them.

Losing your eye glasses is nothing like your sunglasses, which I would "risk" more. If you lose your sunglasses, you can go into some of the gift shops and buy another pair. If you lose your eye glasses, you will be "blind" for the rest of your trip!

I would just get a safety strap. My son always wears his glasses on the rides and has never had an issue. Riding a ride without glasses is just a good way to get sick.

I didn't think about glasses when I went off alone to ride Dragon Challenge, and was stressed the whole time about them. I wanted them to have a bottle of superglue to glue them on before I boarded! :)

I chose to take them off for Rip Ride Rockit, and left them with DH. But I'm not blind without them, so it wasn't a problem going through the line and getting onboard or back out to earth without them on.

Thats up to you .Most rides should be ok, but DH removed his for all the coasters..Gla he did too, because the woman next to him lost her eyeglasses on the Mummy ride

My DS16 has eyeglasses that just sit on the top of his ears, they don't have the piece that goes around his ears.

He has to remove his eyeglasses for every coaster he rides. Because he told me it's important to look cool and he won't wear the safety straps. I guess he'd rather not see. :rotfl:

I was planning on buying safety straps for my boys. Glad to see that they work.

I wear glasses and never had any trouble with them falling off but have come very close on the hulk but was able to push them back on :thumbsup2

Is there anywhere online to buy the safety straps that go around your head? Maybe a Disney one?
