I have us booked in for the dinner buffet on our first night but after I saw a picture of that cake they have at lunch I was wondering if I should change it to lunch. Anyone been either for lunch or for dinner? How noisy is it? :tigger: :dumbo: :simba:

It isn't a buffet--it is a dinner served family style. Like all character meals, it can be a bit noisy....but less so than many. The food is quite good, and this is one of our favorites. The dinner dessert was a peach cobbler in December--very good.

I didn't think it was that great. A couple of years ago was when I went, but it might have changed since. Character meal essentially means Pocahontas woodland creatures at LTT. The food is good; it's not spectacular. It's a good pick if your in MK and are hungry.

We enjoy lunch at LTT alot. The food is quite good. We like to go late .. after 2. It's not so loud and crowded then.

"Pocahontas woodland creatures"?? When we ate there in Dec the food was just OK, but the characters were great. Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale all dressed in Pilgrim clothes. I'm afraid I've never ate lunch there, but dinner was alot of fun. Service was excellent, by the way.

After the mediocre food we suffered through at character meals in years past, Liberty Tree Tavern was a surprise. The food is actually very good, and I might try to convince my wife to do lunch here on some future trip.

Last December we did both lunch & dinner. The dinner is not buffet but an all you care to eat. The characters were Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip, & Dale in colonial costumes. Their interaction was some of the best that we've had a character meal. The food was very good. We had birthday cake so uncertain about the dessert. Our server was great. We went back for lunch later in the week & had the same server. He remembered us. You order off the menu at lunch & it was very good. We were stuffed so didn't order desserts. I remembered seeing some & they looked very nice.

we thought the food was good, not great. the character interaction was good. our server was terrific, but we had problems with the seating (kids on one table, adults at opposite end of room) also, we were right under an A/C vent and we froze! (ummm, there is no smilie for freezing)

 We had dinner at LTT last Oct and loved it :thumbsup2 The food and service were good and the characters were great!!! They came to our table several times. I would definately do it again.

LTT is one of those love it or hate it restaurants that always starts debate.

I'm in the "hate it" camp. DH and I will never go back again. We found the food over processed and absolutely not worth the price. We're not big meat and potatoes people and prefer a wider selection - we love CP.

To its credit, the decor is nice. It's broken up inside and has levels, so it feels more intimate than most disney restaurants. Strangely, they only have one toilet stall per gender and they're up the stairs. We had the first seating with a group of 50 (broken up among a lot of tables) and when we all started needed to use the restroom, there were long lines. I started asked wait staff where other bathrooms outside the restaurant were cause I couldn't wait that long.

Sounds like there are mixed reviews. I think we will just have to try it and see. I am sure that it won't be a "bad" meal. How can a free meal for your first day at WDW and with characters (we have NEVER been to a character meal) be bad? The washroom situation is worrisome though as I drink a lot of water and need to stop a lot. :simba: :dumbo: :goofy:
I wonder if I should make the ressie a bit later so that we can watch the parade from there. Has anyone done this? Do you get a good view? :sunny:

Windows there are very small with curtains and most tables are not in view of the windows anyway. We were able to watch Spectro while eating at CP.

I've only had the lunch there, and I would rate the food very good, especially for a theme park.

I had the Colony Salad (I think that's what it was called?) and it was very tasty. My DH had the pot roast and he liked it, but felt it could have been seasoned more. Our DD (age 3), who is not a great eater, was allowed to order a fruit and yogurt dip appetizer as her lunch, which I appreciated.

The only thing I didn't like was that it took a long time for our waiter to show up and take our drink order when we first got there.

The lunch does not have characters, though. (I kind of wish it did, but we went to character meals for breakfast and dinner, so I shouldn't complain!)

Of all the character meals, this one has consistently had the best character interaction for us. We've dined here twice for MNSSHP and once during the month of June The food is decent, but not gourmet. It's just your basic food, so picky eaters should be okay. FYI, the glass mugs you get your beverages in are available to purchase. I vastly prefer family style to buffet meals too!

I love the atmosphere, reminds me of the region of the US I live in. All of Liberty Square does...

YMMV

We had cherry cobbler last fall - I don't like cherries, but the others said it was good. I've read reports with apple cobbler, and I'm hoping that's what we get in Dec. Not sure if anyone in our group would like peach.

I really enjoy the LTT! I've eaten there for both lunch and dinner. Have a great trip! :)

:flower: We ate supper there at the end of April. We had Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip N Dale. The food was pretty good, the character interaction was great! They all came around at least twice and stayed for a few minutes each time. The service was fantastic and we didn't find it noisy at all! We would do it again for sure!

Never had the chance to eat here but it's on our list for September! I think it will be nice to sit down in some air conditioning and eat a nice meal!

Glad to hear nice things about it! :thumbsup2

I did not like it, dont get me wrong the food was good but the service stunk, we got are food and then the server disapeared when she came back we ask for more turkey and she broght us 1 piece, yes just 1 piece i was not happy dh and I both wanted more turkey and she brought 1 piece then we didnt see her again for 20-25 mins. i would not go back at dinner time.

I really like it here, the food was surprisingly good, and the character interacion is great. The service we have had has always been good. WE are going back for MNSSHP :)
