Hi everybody, now that I've been on vmk on and off for almost two years now I am more confused about trading. So many items have come and gone, not to mention that I am sometimes gone for a month or so at a time. I just don't know what is rare anymore aside from a handful of obvious items or what is a fair trade. I know that seems to be the million dollar question around here but am I missing some link or resource to give me some ballpark idea of when things were released, what they are worth, etc? I just don't think I'm on vmk enough to get a good gauge of these things. I signed up for Aengus's podcast to keep me updated if I'm away for awhile. It just seems like now that there are a bazillion costumes and pins out, and now magic with different stars it is a little overwhelming.

I just look at every single trade that is going on in the trade fourms!

I do what swimmingnemo and pete suggest. Both are helpful.

Trading is such a moving target, no way to keep anything more specific up to date.

Good point on checking out the trade board. Yikes, I don't usually have a lot of time to devote to reading all of that but I should at least check it every once in a while, huh?

Crazypete, I'll check out your link as well. Thanks.

The link KrazyPete gave you is excellent for knowing the history of an item, something I find of value when determining how much I want to offer.

Researching past trades is useless to see what the "going rate" is for items.

Both together and you should at least be armed with the correct information heading into a trade.
