Has anyone recently visited KSC? DH and I are going in a few weeks and in addition to taking the basic tour of the facility, which i have done once all ready, we were considering taking one of the other two tours too. I am curious about which is better, the Apollo/Gemini tour or the new Space Shuttle tour that they just opened up? The shuttle is scheduled to land just two days before we arrive there and I was wondering if this might add or take away from what we would normally see on the new shuttle tour? Thanks for you comments

so I would love to hear a response too. Bump!

I'm a big KSC fan, although it is a lot pricier than it used to be. Adult admission is now $25, which includes the main bus tour.

The other two tours run just a few times a day and cost an additional $20 each.

I prefer the Cape Canaveral tour. But the NASA Up Close Tour is probably the more popular of the two.

Any KSC tour can be interrupted or rerouted due to launch or landing activity, but two days after a landing should be no problem.

My Husband and I just returned from NASA and we took the NASA Up-Close Tour. We felt it was worth the extra $20, as you get close to the launch pads, a guided tour with a real person (instead of a video), and you can stop along the way to take pictures and ask questions. While we were there a shuttle arrived piggy backed on a 747!! What a sight!!

Shmilly-
Just wanted to throw my .02 in:

The shuttle you saw that piggy-backed on the 747- it had to land at our airport in Little Rock unexpectedly and stay overnight to dodge a thunderstorm! Way cool to see it overhead! :)

That pumped me up for our visit in three weeks! We're scheduled to see a shuttle launch on June 14. Which leads me to ask this- we're SUPPOSED to tour the facility the same day, but someone said that the Visitor Complex will be closed before the launch:( I mean, we've bought tickets and EVERYTHING. Does this mean that we'll have to stay until AFTER the launch to do the tour? That would really throw a kink into everything, seeing that the launch isn't until after 4 in the afternoon.

Thanks,
William

You might want to call to KSC ahead of time and ask, but I remember the tour guide telling us that when they have a launch, much of the property is closed to visitors until after the launch is through and cleared. This could put a snag in your plans, so I would definetly call ahead.

Sorry
