We are very excited about our trip, we leave in 3 weeks! This is the first time to stay at Bryan's Spanish Cove, and based on the experiences I have had with the customer service so far, I am sure it will be fantastic!

Although I booked through a Ready, Set, Go! auction with skyauction, I have already received a confirmation and welcome letter from BSC (never got anything like that with CPGV when we stayed through skyauction). I also called the resort directly a couple of weeks ago, to ask how early we could check in, as we are actually staying at Sheraton Safari for our first night (thanks travelzoo, $59. for the night!) and then plan to go to MK for opening the next morning. The wonderful person at Customer Service made a note on our reservation that we wanted early check in (like 8:00 am early) and told me to call her when we arrive on Friday, and if they don't have anyone using the room that night, they will let us in first thing in the morning so we don't have to leave our luggage in the car all day. She also made note of the other family travelling with us, and offered to get us adjacent rooms, etc.

Any recent guest to confirm that the service and accomodations are as great as they sound?

someone here stayed there last year. She enjoyed it and would stay again.

they have limited activities, just a pool nothing great, but the local is great!!!

almost as close to disney as Cypress Pointe.

but when you come out turn left - then at the light turn right - you will be on disney property sooner than at CYpress pointe.

I went with Cypress Pointe - but it is definitely closed to FW. (where Spicey will be).

FayeW, please let us know what you think of BSC when you get back. We won a Ready, Set, Go Skyauction for 12/3-12/10 and selected BSC as well. Hope you have a fabulous vacation!

I won a future auction at Bryan's so I stopped by this week to check it out.

The person at the counter was wonderful. She gave me a key to a vacant unit so I could look at it.

This is what I found out:
The interior of all of the units have been recently remodeled. They are in the process of finishing the last two units so there was a dumpster in the lot. Those pictures online showing pink carpet are thankfully pictures from the past.

As you walk in, the second bathroom is just inside the door. The bathroom was standard size but seemed nice and new. The second bedroom by the bath was small with two twin beds and no TV. The window overlooked the parking lot.

On the other side of the entry door was a huge eat in kitchen. I did not notice a washer / dryer but later called and confirmed that all units have them. The kitchen looked well stocked and new.

It overlooked the livingroom that had medium blue carpeting and two blue sofas. There was a white tiled fireplace (no wood is supplied but I was told you can get some at Walmart). An armoire in the corner by the sliding glass door held a standard size TV.

The master had a king bed facing an armoire with a TV. The bathroom is large but not a newer style. The tub was standard length and width but deeper than most with a ring of small holes around the bottom edge where the bubbles must come from. I'd never seen anything like it. I think there were two sinks. The bathroom was nice enough and everything looked new.

The only worn items I noticed was the curtains in front of the slider (there were many small holes in it) and the deck itself was a bit old. The decks on the lower units were huge but connected with the decks from the other units (at least they were on the lower level).

There were many grills located around the property. The units on the west side are best since they overlook the woods. The land on the east side of the resort looks as though it was recently cleared - most likely to for expansion of the Embassy Suites Resort next door.

The pool was small but empty and quiet. There is also a hot tub. Both overlook the rather beautiful and peaceful lake. They have various boats that are available to use for free (small row boats, canoes, paddle boats). Motors can be rented for only about $4/hour.

They sell fishing licenses and rent poles. Pictures show some huge fish was caught in the lake.

Overall, I was impressed with the resort. I'd call it small, quaint, old and comfortable. It may be missing some amenities of newer resorts, but the location is great and the person behind the counter seemed genuinely kind.

They are planning an exterior rehab soon. There is one maintenance area in between two buildings piled high with materials.

My only concern was that there is no security gate. I did have some worker's watching my every move from an upper balcony. I'm not sure if they were suspicious of me but it spooked me a bit.

I hope this review helps.

Thank you so much, bearzabout! It sounds like we will have a wonderful time. CPGV is a hard act to follow, and we were disappointed we couldn't go back. Thanks to your great review, I am even more excited about BSC!

I second the thanks, bearzabout! That's great info. We are REALLY looking forward to our stay now.

There are two other things I was wondering about. Do you happen to know if there are DVD players in the units? And if there is internet access?
Thanks!
