any real gelato to be found?

Wolfgang Puck Upstairs has gelato listed in their dessert menu. Pretty expensive meal for gelato, but I'll bet it's very good.

BTW- our best gelato ever was in little Italy in NYC. Peach, so good we took the subway twice from Times Square just to go back and have more!!!

Which line of the subway did you take?

We're going to be there in a couple of weeks (airlines willing), and would love to get the opportunity to try some...

Thanks!

My DD14 has to have mango gelato at BC every day when we are there. She doesn't care how cold it is outside. My youngest DD8 is partial to the raspberry. It is delicious!

Sounds like I need to make plans to grab a four cheese pizza at Wolfgang Puck Express (close - not exact, but close to real Italian pizza) then head over to BC for gelato. :thumbsup2 Try and convince myself I'm back in Piazza Navona :teeth:

I can't believe Disney hasn't added a real gelateria and/or have a REAL pizza place in the Italy pavilion.

We took the 6 I believe, (talking to a Kansan who has only a vague grasp of public transporation) There were 2 gelato places about 3 doors away from each other, and the (maybe south?) one was much better. There are only a couple of blocks of Little Italy, most of it is now surrounded by China Town.
But Lots and Lots of Market booths, very cool!!

Thanks - that must be the one I was thinking of . . . going to have to try it. "Real" gelato does have a richer flavor, it's creamier and softer, consistency somewhere between regular and soft serve, hard to describe LOL. It's usually scooped by a paddle instead of a regular scoop.

I'm making myself even hungrier for it now, LOL! I'll be so happy if it's the real stuff. :teeth:

Yes, that is how it is at the marketplace, always get some when i go there. The gelato at epcot, ignore it, tastes like ice cream to me. At the market place they make it fresh there, in epcot, its hard frozen ice cream basically. its not soft and smooth because its in those pre-packaged frozen ice cream snack style containers, and it was frozen hard.

BC Marketplace...it's not Italy but it's really, really good. The gelato at the cart in Epcot's Italy seemed a little too..."icy" and not creamy like the real thing.

I'll have to try and find them! Thanks.....

Still dreaming of the Piazza Navonna :goodvibes

They have gelato on the dessert menu at Tony's in MK.

My absolute favorite spot on earth. We made a habit out of pizza at Tucci and gelato at the end of the piazza. :cloud9:

I would bounce between there and the Borghese Gardens.

No grass in Greece- and I was going into withdrawl, so I'd go there and take off my shoes and luxuriate in the grass!

I know it's silly.......
